I thought the FBI was investigating the bogus letter he sent to himself; is he off the hook there, too??? Unbelievable miscarriage of justice. I get more discouraged every single day.

Agreed Beth. There has been NO justice.

Trump has requested DOJ and FBI to investigate. Not sure how far that can or will go but Soros and Obamas best be watching their next stupid moves. Heads need to roll from many places over what this idiot did and I hope they do.

Apparently, that avenue is really being pursued by the feds. If it is found that Smollett used the U.S. Postal Service to send himself that letter he could be facing 10 years in a Federal prison.
Using the USPS to commit a crime is punishable so I do wish the Feds good luck with their investigation and further pursuits in the matter.

In the end, I think that Jussie Smollett was just a distraction. The winners are the progressive left, who were able to take the Virginia governor and lieutenant governor off of the news cycle, as that scandal was reminding people that the Democrats haven't taken off their Klan robes, as they'd like us to believe, and the Democrats in general, since the dropping of charges against him blunted the impact of the Mueller report. Smollet himself benefited in that everyone now knows his name, while most people had never heard of him before.

And it just gets more ridiculous every day. The NAACP has nominated Smollett for an "Image Award?????" Yeah, let's pile on the awards for this POS. LINK

Jussie Smollett is nominated for an NAACP Image Award for his work on “Empire,” but it’s still unknown if he will attend the upcoming festivities on Saturday at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.

I subscribe to Jericho Green on Youtube. He tells it like it is, and here's his take on the latest Smollett news. (CAUTION: LANGUAGE. If you are offended by profanity, please don't open this video.)

I saw that Rahm Emmanuel has backed off a bit on his condemnation of the State's Attorney on the case, and decided that it is actually all Trump's fault. Trump apparently is responsible for Smollett's actions. How silly can things get?

I'm tending to agree with @Ken Anderson that this is in order to deflect attention away from the Mueller report and the fact that there was no Russian collusion.

As he was pleading Not Guilty as he has told us all

Why did he agree to do 2 days at a Black charity and also forfeit his $10k bond.

Being a bit nasty would he have done the same if ordered to do 2 days at a KKK charity(if there is one)

LOL. Tom, there's absolutely no KKK charity; that is a hate group.

Well Beth, I never thought about it one way or the other but since @Tom Galty brought it up, I had to take a brief look.
I didn’t have to go too far to find out that in 1922, each member of the Klan donated $25 (a lot of money back then) to the African Episcopal Methodist Church and the Volunteers of America.
It’s undoubted that each chapter might make donations to a Christmas charity or even a political campaign but whatever good that comes to is more than negated by some of the more negative drives they have had in the past.

Actually, I think it might be good for Smollett to walk around for a couple of hours on the south side of Chicago with a white sheet on asking for a charitable donation to the “Failing Actor’s Society” or better yet, asking for money to help pay back the city of Chicago.

It may be that the KKK donates to charities, but there are no KKK sponsored charities that I am aware of. And $25 was a HUGE amount of money in 1922, so I have a little bit of skepticism about that claim.

Look it up is all I can say. I really don't care whether they do or not but it was an interesting take so I humbled myself to my own curiosity and found out. My suggestion is to start with Quara and go from there.

Now, back to Smollett. I heard that the show he played a part in took another nose dive when he was "let loose". Seems that a whole lot of people got hurt from his prank.

I have read of several possibilities for prosecution. Since "Hate Crimes" have a Federal component, the Illinois State's Attorney can be prosecuted for obstruction under Federal law. The two bozos who actually committed the crime could be prosecuted for civil rights violation, and Smollett could be called to testify under oath. I wonder what that would produce?
