What do you think of the way the Chinese seem to be taking over the world, quietly and stealthily?

Their silence with regard the landing on the dark side of the moon, is just the tip of the ice-berg to many..

Rather than type my whole thoughts on the subject I give you this article to read on the subject.. (there are many more similar articles in the media in The UK, USA, Australia, and new Zealand...

I did read that yesterday and I was actually impressed. I didn’t think about any other ramifications of it...just saw it as an advancement in science/technology.

As you know...I’m not one for conspiracies so just took it at face value.

I don’t feel they’re taking over the world but everything is made in China. :)

I haven't read the article linked yet but I don't think that China necessarily conspires. It just does exactly what other nations or empires have done since ancient times: If they are allowed to grow by their neighbours or rivals and if they have the capacity, they will develop into an empire or become a major, if not super power. When speaking with Chinese people I was often struck by their growing self-confidence which seems to run counter to how China and the Chinese are still viewed by many people of our generation. For them China's growth in all its facets has been largely unnoticed despite the fact that it took over Britain's role as "workshop of the world" some time ago. Many people of our generation over here still see China as a developing country regardless of its economic growth. Incidentally, it really is ridiculous that China still receives development aid from Germany and no one seems to be making a move to change that.

The Chinese people I have talked to usually see Germany as a kind of museum and think that Europe is not to be taken seriously. Europe simply doesn't count for them and doesn't play a role in international affairs either. It may indeed take some getting used to for people who hardly have any contact with the Chinese to accept the fact that those people are totally Asian-centered or Pacific-centered and unmistakably extremely proud of their country's achievements and don't seem to be looking up to Europe (nor the US?) any more.

Despite what is published on the U.S. and the politics that divide us, China is a much more unstable nation than most folks realize. There is a big divide between the "haves" in the cities, and the "have-nots" that populate the rural areas. The Chinese have to keep their economy growing at a breakneck pace to keep the population under control. Much of the advancement technologically in recent years has been with stolen information. The doors to U.S. technology were opened by President Clinton, and he handed quite a lot of it directly to Chinese interests. Most of the technology companies in China are owned or controlled by the Chinese People's Army, thus directing much of the advancement into military use.
The Chinese are a very racist people, as are the Japanese, and consider themselves to be racially superior to the other people on the planet. I spoke a few years ago with some business owners in the Yukon Territory of Canada. I was told that much of Canada was being purchased by foreign interests, mostly Chinese and German. The business people told me that the Germans were easy to work with and understood the Canadian people, but the Chinese were impossible and viewed them as slaves or servants.

I have posted here before that China is the most serious threat to world peace and stability we have ever seen. The tariff "wars" that have been going on between the U.S. and China are having much more serious effects in China than here, so we will see what happens in the near future, but the real danger is coming at the end of the decade or shortly thereafter when China controls most of the third world and the resources contained therein.

I'm totally with you on this @Don Alaska . I've visited any European countries where the Chinese seem to be dominating more and more in industry and retail... and for the last probably 20 years I've been having this kind of discussion with friends and family that the Chinese seem to be ''everywhere''... and now.... I believe that is coming true..

Please folks if you haven't read the link, try and take the time to...

Although the US is greatly in debt to China, we also give them developmental aid, which is nuts.

China is going to eat our lunch. They are making great inroads in exploiting Africa,a continent we never even looked at. They are cozying up to Russia, who is align with Syria Turkey and Iraq, their N Korean stepchild is whispering sweet nothing to the Southern peninsula. The Chinese government heavily subsidize the latest technology(stolen or not). They are light years ahead of us in energy storage, solar technology and photoptics.
We ain't gonna be great for a long long time

Some Chinese tourists are already referring to the U.S. National Parks as "their parks". I especially fear for our Navy, as we have put so much energy into aircraft carriers, but they are the battleships of the current era. Battleships became obsolete when the carriers were invented, and the carriers became obsolete when high energy missiles were deployed aboard small ships and submarines. Military strategists accuse the Germans and Japanese of wasting resources on things like the Bismarck and the Yamato as it is said that 200 to 300 destroyers could have been built with the money and resources expended on building those battleships, but we are doing the exact same thing today. One well-placed missile can take out a 13 billion dollar warship, all the aircraft and the entire crew.

I read the articulate a few days ago in the people's daily/English edition which I.read on a more or less regular basis. . For some time nor China making friends and infusing people in South America and Africa both with visits and deeds? They are wooing Indianoth presidents have visited back and forth agreeing on trade. While China still has a number of backward provences, they have been building them up. China, I believe will b the next super power and are working toward that end. They also are building their military forces I think the probably are attempting to lesson our orld wide and to increase trade where they have not done so before.

China is the real enemy of the US not Russia. Russia is the boogie man that the left uses to scare people

Russia is being used as a distraction from the real threat, as the Clintons have strong ties with China.

Don. The Clintons are last years news. They do not now and never have wielded the omnipotent, law avoiding, skills that you guys are all so afraid of.
The Russians are most assuredly our enemy, slowly patiently biding their time building their alliances until time is ripe. Go ahead and ignore them to all of our peril in your desperate defense of the aberration that sits in the Oval Office.
Please try to remember back to when America meant more to you than the guy in that office does!
