True. This is what I really wanted, but see the flat board up the middle? You would need something that wide to fasten that center fitting to. There is only a 2" rafter running vertical under mine. That board goes all the way to the ceiling and to the floor. If it didn't it would look stupid. I don't want all that trouble. Too many places where it wouldn't fit right.

Had I thought about it earlier I might have put something under the drywall to support that center T, but I didn't. It's too hard with this project to plan that far ahead.

And getting all those fittings just right... I know my limitations. I couldn't do it.

I suspect the nurse at the doctor's office gave me one of those high dose flu shots. I asked specifically for low dose, but remember now she said the computers were down. The nurse and the doctor normally communicate by computer.

Same symptoms, chills, low grade fever, headache. Laziness, but that could be due to getting up at the crack of 6:30 this morning. :p

By the way, the doctor said the vaccine is proving to be very successful this year.

Meant to add, went shopping for a new smartphone at the AT&T store. The only small ones they had were Samsung S8, S9, S9+ and J3. Found out they make up through J8.

Looks like none of those will fit well in my pants pocket. If I use the blouse pocket, it always falls out when I'm working outside and bend over. I like the Samsung phones, and the Android OS. I'm aware that I'm biased. No other brand makes them significantly smaller anyway.

A hospital newsletter clipping and photo of my uncle, when he was admitted to Percy Jones Hospital, Battle Creek, Michigan.

The note he typed in at the bottom is interesting.

The caption starts off..." 'But you should see the other guy,' chortled this wounded veteran to evoke spontaneous laughs from an attendant nurse and litter bearer as he arrived by hospital train convoy from the fiery Western front for treatment at Percy Jones. ..."

Beautiful! . It was disappointing not to get to see the wagon at the end of the first video.

Exercise this afternoon. Back side of the house, before and after.

Cutting them took 10 minutes. Cleaning up the mess took two hours.

Mildew forms on the side of the house because of these, and one interfered with the furnace exhaust. They grow like crazy. I can't keep up with them.

The plan is to dig them up, transplant at least the two smallest ones, and put in a slow growing hedge I can trim neatly. These are the same plants I'm trying to start from clippings, but those might take 2 years before they are ready to put outside.

Yes, the downspout is crooked. It was meant to be only temporary. That was 20 years ago.

You might want to look into getting a smart watch that works with your phone, like the Apple Watch does. I hated having to carry a purse along , and I usually didn’t have a pocket for the phone to fit into, and when the pone was in the bottom of the purse, I often couldn’t hear it ring anyway.
Now that I have the watch, everything is completely silent (although I could have sound if I wanted to), and it just vibrates on my wrist when I have a call.
I can answer the calls right from the watch, so I never miss a phone call, unless it is one that I want to miss.

Also, they make arm bands where you can carry your phone, so if you don’t want to try the smart watch idea, a cheaper way would be to just get the arm band for your phone and that would keep it safe when you are out working.

Thanks, Yvonne. I want to be able to take pictures, check the internet, like the weather, email, and look up phone numbers, stuff like that, maybe even type a message if I really have to. A wrist band might get in the way while I'm working.

I'll look at the arm band, or maybe one of those cases that attaches to a belt, although I never wear a belt.

I really want it attached to me, in case I fall out of a tree, or get cornered by an armadillo out in the woods. Maybe I'll just sew big pockets, with button flaps, on all my blouses. lol

There was frost on the grass in the shade all day while trimming those bushes yesterday, but it was perfect weather for working, because there was no wind. We have only had about 3 days below freezing so far this season, but the first day came very early in November. This maple tree in the back yard is starting to come out already (the red on the tips).

    Two things.

I felt sad after watching Charlotte's death scene video from Charlotte's Web. After the first freeze Carmen disappeared. Later they predicted night temp in the mid 20's, so I removed two of Carmen's egg pods, and put them in two peanut butter jars (without lids). I was going to put them somewhere out of the freezing temps, but in a cold place.

I put one in the basement in town, and thought about putting the other one either, (1) in an unheated closet, or, (2) the unheated front porch, out at the farm.

Now I can't find it anywhere.

(I also forgot what the other thing was.)

Update: Found the 3rd egg pod in the front porch today. Added some dried leaves to the jar and moved it to the garage by the door. Spiders might start to hatch soon, if they are still alive.

The latest puzzle. This is the corner of the barn piled with straw for goat bedding. Almost every time I go out there, there is at least one almost perfectly round hole hollowed out in the straw, about the size of a basketball, as if something has been sleeping there. I can't think of any way a goat could make that. Not sure I really want to know how it got there.:confused:o_O:oops:

Still trying to follow the new plan:. Save some work that can be done in cold weather for winter. Trying to avoid getting out of shape this winter, like last winter. :p

First part of one little project yesterday

A temporary fence we put up several years ago around a very large old pine tree, to keep the goats from stripping the bark and killing it. The fence worked, but the tree died anyway. At least it didn't do too much damage the way it fell.

Another toy ... T-post puller. I couldn't do it without this little thing.

Five of the T-posts and a couple short pieces of fence can be used again.

The second part is to try and attach a piece of this fence to the bottom of the newest gate out there, to discourage dogs from digging under. They only sell heavy duty fence in big rolls.
