I enjoyed most of them but I always looked forward to Rube Goldberg and Ripley's Believe it or Not.

    I LIKED:

    Popeye
    Archie
    Prince Valiant (beautifully drawn)
    Dick Tracy
    Terry and the Pirates
    Mutt & Jeff
    Blondie & Dagwood
    Plastic Man
    Maggie & Jiggs
    Lil' Abner

All the above were very popular in the1940's, which was MY TIME for the Comics!

I love Charlie Brown. He reminds me of me. :D

One of my favorite cartoons is Foghorn Leghorn and the little Chicken Hawk.

    Remember the Katzenjammer kids?

I'm afraid that they would be banned from the comics today.

I forgot to include Hans und Fritz, the Katzenjammer Kids!

Along with Mama, Papa, und der Inspektor!

(The strip was also called "The Captain and the Kids")

Li'l Abner. Crazy, satirical, and at times quite political! Don't know if Al Capp's work was available in the UK or not...

We could not wait for the Sunday paper to come and had to take turns with the comics section.

Nancy, Lil Abner, Archie, Family Circus, Blondie, The Wizard of Id, Beetle Bailey, Dennis the Menace and Popeye all come to mind.

Foghorn Leghorn: "I say, I say there, Boy, 'Why you always trying to catch me?"
Chicken Hawk: "Because I'm a chicken hawk, and you're a chicken!"
