    https://www.foxnews.com/politics/ra...-i-really-worry-someone-is-going-to-be-killed

I found this whole article very interesting.

Ever since Trump ran for President and then was elected I have heard assassination rumors for him...now there is talk about Kavanaugh being killed, etc.

It's getting really dangerous to be a Govenment Official these days and sooner or later these rumors and talk have a really good chance of becoming reality in my opinion.

There were many assassination rumors around both Obama and G.W.Bush as well. The Left has become so radicalized as to not even be sane any longer. Who would have dreamed that a radical Democrat activist would shoot up a Congressional baseball practice?

I agree there have been rumors before for past Presidents...I just think that the world is a crazier place now with people that are losing all common sense and decency...and assassination is more likely to happen now days.

This is just about the same line of thought as I was having this morning when I started the thread about the crazy protest people. The first president that I really remember was General Eisenhower, and I can remember that there were campaign speeches, and people had the little “I Like Ike” button that they pinned on their shirts. I am sure that there was discussion about him and (I think) Adlai Stevenson, but people just quietly talked about the benefits and capabilities of both men, and then everyone voted for whoever they thought would do the best job as our president.
The next election was a little more unusual, because Senator John Kennedy was a Catholic, and this worried a lot of people because we had never had a Catholic president before. Most of the Catholics were Democrats, so they would have probably voted for Kennedy regardless; but since he was the same religious beliefs, it was certain that they would be voting Democrat.
The Catholics were probably some of the most conservative people I can remember from back then, and a lot of the blue collar workers were also Democrats, and the Republican were mostly business people.
Once Kennedy was elected, everyone accepted him as our president, and the whole country was devastated when he was assassinated.

What I am trying to say, is that we ALL used to be pretty conservative and tolerant of other people’s views back then, and somewhere along the line , that has disappeared. I don’t think that it has disappeared from everyone, but there are people who “stoke the fires” to keep people upset, and I think that most of the really unethical and crazy stuff is orchestrated.
We have people of different political beliefs here on the forum, and we are all able to respectfully discuss issues, so it is not that it can’t be done; it is just that it seems like especially the younger people (college age ? ) are just following blindly what they are told, but have somehow lost their whole sense of what is acceptable behavior.
Like you pointed out, who would have ever thought that someone would shoot up a baseball practice just because of political differences ?

@Yvonne Smith, I think much of that is due to the deterioration of the public school systems nationwide and their use as indoctrination centers instead of educational institutions, both high school and college. Kennedy would be considered a conservative now, and did much of what Trump is doing--military build-up, cut taxes, and he was trying to withdraw us slowly from Vietnam when he was killed. The intelligence community and the FBI fought him every step of the way. I think society in the U.S. changed after Vietnam, and everybody got radicalized somewhat under Carter but worsened in the 90s under Clinton. It has been accelerating ever since, and the Progressives are panicked at the thought that they might lose the way they get around Congress--legislating from the bench instead of the legislatures and the ballot box.

There is always something to worry about when dealing with the likes of Schumer, Pelosi, Feintein and the Clintons and Obamas, but we will have to wait and see what the results are tomorrow. There are long lines many places for early voting, and many registered Republicans are voting early, which has the pollsters and commentators puzzled as it hasn't happened before. Republicans usually vote on Election Day, and the Democrats use early voting. May mean something or may mean nothing at all.

If the Dems get skunked this election, I got no doubt they will get a bit crazy, but I still say the true looney-tunes ones will not start to crawl out from under their rocks til 2020 election...now if Trump gets his second-term, watch out!
