had been living and walking the earth when He was, watching Him do the miracles He did, etc.?

Would you have been part of the crowd that followed Him or one of the ones who wanted him dead?

If you lived back then would you even have believed in God our Creator...or would you have been a Heathen?

So you're going along with the crowd Ken? Or are you going to make up your own mind what you believe?

We're both Believers and would definitely follow him. Just to be able to look into his Devine eyes would have been wonderful.

We have the movie, Risen. A very powerful movie about Followers and a powerful Roman Tribune that ended up as one also. We love that movie.

I have no doubt that since I believe Jesus is God's Son without having been there personally when He walked this earth...that I would have believed it if I had been there too. And I would have been one who also believed and still do that God is our Creator and the Creator of the Universe and everything in and on it.

The Bible is the proven history of God's chosen people and of those who choose God and Jesus too. Those who did walk and talk with Jesus back then are witnesses to everything that happened that proved Jesus was God's Son and that God is exactly who He says He is. So it is not hard for me to believe God's Word in the Bible is also the truth.

I would have loved to have sat at Jesus's feet when He walked this earth....but by faith I know that one day I will sit at His feet in eternity....and that's something my heart can hardly wait for. :)

The question was if I would have believed in Christ if I had been living and walking the earth while He was here. I answered honestly, as I always try to do, that I don't know whether I would have believed. Christ spoke to the Jewish people, and there is little evidence that non-Jews were even much aware of His presence until His apostles and disciples were sent out into the world. If I were Jewish, then I would have been a different person, with entirely different life experiences, so I can't say, with any clarity, where I'd have gone with that. Had I been raised Muslim, would I be a Christian now? If I had been raised to be a Buddhist, would I have found Christ? Certainly, there are Muslims and Buddhists who have, but I can only speak for me, as I am, so my answer remains that I don't know.

Well I meant you would still be you Ken...just living in that time period. No offense meant here.

I'm not sure but I do believe if Jesus turned up today, in my neighborhood, he would probably be treated like all of the other illegal aliens in town.

Most people are scared and suspicious of things that they don't understand.

That fear/uncertainty usually results in some form of violence.

Of course, then the answer would be yes because the gap that would have to be spanned by faith would be even narrower.

It's unlikely that he would, however. While here, He didn't travel very far.

As I understand things, the Lord is thought to be a kind and forgiving entity, ever merciful, and understanding.

Thus, I ask, why is it that those who follow the Lord seem to for the most part decry heathens, like me, when their Savior supposedly forgives me?

God is forgiving to those who ask forgiveness, but he hates evil.

"God is a righteous judge, a God who expresses his wrath every day. If he does not relent, he will sharpen his sword; he will bend and string his bow. He has prepared his deadly weapons; he makes ready his flaming arrows." -- Psalm 4:11-13

"The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness." -- Romans 1:18

Thus, I am adjudged "wicked" because of my "godlessness"? Sorry, I can't buy it.

I am damned if I buy, and damned if I don't.

What if I "sell" instead of buying?

Those of us who are now Christians were once heathens too. God loves everyone He created but He does hate evil and His holiness cannot exist with unholiness. God's Son Jesus Christ shed His blood to make us holy when we ask Him to forgive our sins and become our Savior. This is a free gift anyone can ask for and receive. It is also the only way to eternal life with God our Father. Jesus washes away our sins (past, present, and future) when we repent and ask Him to forgive them and He becomes Lord of our lives.

No matter how good we are...there is not one of us who hasn't sinned in thought, word, or deed. Sin is unholy and makes us unclean. Jesus washes away those sins and makes us holy before God. It's the gift God offers each of us and it is the only way to become one of his beloved sons or daughters and to know that we will spend eternity with Him one day.

God offers every one of us this wonderful gift..all one has to do is ask for it in faith and believe when you receive it.
