I’ve been reading some of the recent postings, such as Time For General Thinking, Shaving Thoughts, Compared-Is yours Boring, Why, Philosophical Briefs and others. Brings to mind reflections of my own life and life-style. Along with the pondering here and in conjunction with a little book I am reading at the present time, “Home Town Tales” by some gent named Phillip Gulley, I find I have something of a disconnect in my own thinking.

I want to do good but when I try there is a disconnect and it turns out bad.

It runs through my boyhood, through tough adulthood, and later life.

I think maybe I wished I could have turned out more like this gent, Phillip Gulley. He says he is a storyteller and he is. I might also point our he is a Quaker Minister and I expect that is good for the Quakers, but what I like about reading his book is how he takes ordinary situations and and points out how we can all do better without being preachy.

He makes me wish I had been better, had done better in life, had not had this disconnect that makes me wish I had taken the other road.

I have read some of his "Harmony" books. They are uplifting without being preachy. They have a delightful sense of humor in them. I looked him up and found this on YouTube. I actually laughed out loud a time or two.

Yeah, he has another, 'Front Porch Tales'. These are in large print and is the reason read them.
I'm glad to know he has some videos. I'll watch them. Maybe they'll make me a better person for doing so. Maybe not. I'm pretty dumb. Some things just do not penetrate my skull.
