Since I add new topics to a category by twos, I will be adding two new topics to the Education & Entertainment category, based on suggestions in the New Topics thread in the Help forum. Sports & Recreation Science & Nature History & Geography In a week, I will add the two topics that have the most votes. Feel free to discussion them here as well, if you'd like, and you will be able to change your votes.
Great move @Ken Anderson! I particularly like the Science and History boards as opposed to the sports stuff. Of course, not that I am against sports and recreation but the two other boards add soooo much more meat on a plate dominated by mashed potatoes. To me, any time spent learning something definitively more complicated is far more pleasing at the end than reading about the NFL or how to spend a summer vacation. But, .............that's just me.
I will vote for sports as one because I know some are interested. I like science and nature so will vote for that too.
I have Zero interest in sports but I sacrificed a vote in favor of it for the sake of those who like it. We have nothing here for this topic. Thanks.
Whichever one loses out here, that doesn't mean it will never be added, only that it will have to wait until I find another one to add to the same category, since I add them in twos. I think they are all good ideas or I wouldn't have put them up for a vote.
The only People here who mentioned that they voted for sports are two people who don't like it; but thought they should "sacrifice " one of their votes anyway ? Where are all the comments from those who love sports ? So the new catagories will be science and nature, and the other one is history and geography , or is each one of those a topic in itself, and the new ones will be one for history, and one for geography ? And when do we get them ?
I know Yvonne. I thought sports because one of the guys asked for it a long time ago. Somehow I remembered that, but not who it was. I really don't care, anything new will be fine. I see 6 votes for sports and recreation.
I see those categories have been added so I guess History and Geography won out. I will basically talk about anything, so I am good with just about anything that is posted. I have a bit of knowledge about most subjects. I guess I am one of those..Jack of All Trades, Master of none. Or Jill of All of Trades, Master of none, maybe in my case;;
I think I missed out on the voting part, but I'm happy with the results. I'm not much into sports, other than an occasional hockey game, ice skating, and the olympics. I think the other topics will be popular with the group we have here. I love nature, and am somewhat interested in the other topics, as well.
I had thought of that. We have a fair number of posts about cars and trucks and stuff. Unless I make it a subsection of the technology forum, I would need a second one to balance it with but it's not a bad idea. How about if I make it about transportation so that the train and plane stuff could go there too?
