I've owned 27 cars, from my first one which I bought at age 15, but didn't begin driving it legally until my 16th Birthday in 1952, when I took the DMV test and got my California Driver License.

If anybody's interested in the cars I've owned, I'll put up the list.

@Hal Pollner I listed mine out long time ago, so the list would now be longer. I think I can remember them all, but have pictures of only a few. Back then the list counted over 50; since then, add perhaps 10 more. The most memorable ones were those on which I did unusual engine/transmission swaps. My 430 cu. in. Lincoln engine saw service in four different vehicles! It's Ford-factory install in a 1959 Lincoln, then in my '55 Mercury, 1964 Falcon, 1963 Falcon. Engine wound up in my Mother's garage in Brookfield, Illinois, when I moved to Las Vegas in 1972. She gave it to a young man across the alley...........The 1963 Falcon at left below has the Lincoln in it. Polaroid ca. 1969.

I don't remember all the cars I've owned. Every time I try to remember, I think of one I missed. I bought several I should not have bought in my younger days. Not being mechanically inclined and being too trusting, i've bought cars that needed a ring job or ring and valves. I'd bought eight or nine new cars, leased a couple, and owned a slew of used cars. Also had a number of motorcycles. One of the best things to happen to engines was to get rid of points and plugs, and condensers. A real pain in the neck for me. And fuel pumps.

I never had any that were "nice or new", until I met my wife. I couldn't afford a nice and/or new vehicle. Heck, when I met my wife, I didn't even have a car. I had a 1987 Kawasaki 650 motorcycle, rain apparel and a plastic cover for the bike. Took her to work once on the bike and then we sold it. We used her Toyota 4-Runner all the time.

Actually, my first car, as a Senior in high school in 1968, was a 1956 Chevy Bel Air (cone style taillights). It was green, but a farm neighbor of mine and I ended up painting it Royal Maroon with paint brushes. Were going to use his electric sprayer, but it stopped working, so out came the paint brushes.

I've only had 6 vehicles. The first was a gift, the second was a loaner, and the last was inherited. Except for the loaner (1 year), I've kept them an average of 13 years each. Have not spent much money on cars.

I couldn't name all of mine, mostly because, in my younger years, I went through a series of cars that I paid less than $100 for.

No, David, I only had a daughter, and by the time she came along, I was already settled into buying a car once every 5 years or so, unlike my early days, when I would buy a care every year. (All used cars)

My all-time favorite car was my 1942 Mercury Club Coupe. 3-speed stick, 100 HP flathead V8. and a pair of sweet-sounding pipes!

I got my drivers license also when I was 16 but that was in 1967. While at home I drove my moms Chevy Impala, forget what year it was but fairly new.

Then when I married in 1970, my husband had just purchased a brand new 1970 Ford Torino, it was white with a red stripe down the side.

    That went pretty fast!!

It looked like this but the stripe was red....technically this was my first car that I owned (co owned).

Sold that after I had my daughter. There were quite a few cars in that time frame and I can't remember them all.

We weren't a two car family though until later.
