Good Morning one and all. :) Sharing a picture of a white aloe vera plant today...isn't it beautiful? I've never seen one that is white so when I came across this picture I just had to save it and share. I'd love to find one to gift my Honey with.

There has been a really bad virus going on over here but I think it's about finished running through my family...including me and my Honey. Every year it seems like new viruses just pop up all over the place...we are blessed that we have managed to avoid most of them. And even this one went easier on us than it did a lot of others.

I'm so glad that it is summer and all the grandkids are out of school and the days are not as busy for any of us right now. Today my daughter goes for another ultrasound of her baby boy and she is bringing his 3 year old sister with her so she can see him in Mommy's tummy. There is such a change in my granddaughter who didn't even want her Mommy to have another baby when her other brother was in the womb....with this baby she tells her Mommy she is going to help feed and take care of him...and it's so cute to see her ask her Mom how her baby brother is doing in her tummy today. :) She's much better with the brother she already has too and he adores his sister! :)

It's still hot over here but we are getting some showers almost every day for a little while right now...and everything that is growing is loving that. :)

We will finally have new neighbors next month in the duplex. One is a young Nurse who is going to have a baby and the other who will live in the other part of the Duplex is an older woman coming from Seattle. Her daughter came and rented the place for her Mom. We are excited and feel like our prayers have been answered for our new neighbors. :)

A quick good evening before I fall asleep, these long days on our short vacation are more tiring than working on the dacha, [IMG] we visited three temples and a couple of churches today, plus a few hours of walking as well............... considering I am not into religion, I do seem to spend a lot of time in these religious places [IMG] ......they are fascinating though and I find amazing peace in some of them, the last monastery we visited was especially tranquil with a stilling atmosphere, and to think it had stood there since the 13th century was awe inspiring really.
I will post some photos soon.............

Tomorrow we are going to another ancient town called Rostov, which dates back to 862 and became the capital of this Russian principality by the 10th century, it's a 90 minute bus ride from here............ the bus fares are remarkably cheap in this area, at 15 cents for local journeys and a couple of dollars for long distance ones.

A few pics of the studio we are staying in, these are by the owner I hasten to add, we don't have any snow here at the moment [IMG]

I can't tell you anything about being born in a Castle @Babs Hunt , I don't remember it.:D..but yes I have a picture of it....

The Castle is now a ruin...it has a long history attached to it..built in the early 1800's....then just before WW2 broke out ( around the mid 1930's) part of it's out lying buildings housed a Maternity unit...another part a unit for single mothers, and yet another part for wayward teens, and people with mental health problems.

My mother was a young nurse in the mid 50's , she went into premature labour and gave birth to me in the castle ....not the outlying maternity units where many single mothers were housed.

Apparently the treatment of mental health , and wayward teen patients was appalling in the attached units ...so although it sounds very grand to say I was born in a Castle , aside from where I was born it was apparently not a very nice place ...

This is it as it is now...

    ...and then.....

That is really neat Holly to be born in a Castle. :) I was born in an Army tent Hospital...which is pretty unusual too. :)

I don't want them to be to friendly...since I'm an introvert and would not enjoy someone coming over all the time, etc. But I am happy they are women instead of single men and I'm sure we will get along just fine. :)

Yes that is pretty unusual as well..I agree!! My daughter was born in a regular hospital but she was Christened on the biggest jump jet aircraft carrier in the fleet at the time, because her daddy was in the Navy...so we had the ship's chaplain baptise her ..and there's even more to the story..

The ship had been at sea for 7 months prior to docking shore side back home and on the first few days back it's traditional for families and friends of the serving crew to be invited aboard ship. The Captain had 2 of his own friends visiting that weekend and they learned about the baptism ,, so you can imagine our surprise when a Captains' steward arrived just before the ceremony in the Ships Chapel and presented us with a beautiful box containing 2 engraved Baptism Candles for my daughter with a beautiful little card signed from HRH prince Charles and HRH Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. :D
