Wow!!! That sounds like a fab time , even though I'm not a gambler I do love the atmosphere in Casinos ...but this one you're attending sounds like a HUGE deal. I hope you have a wonderful trip, and win more than you can afford to lose... :D

Wow, have fun and win big!

Are you playing or just watching?

I'm not a gambler but do love the slot machines in Vegas...Ive always stayed at one of the hotels on the strip but have visited Fremont Street and the 4 Queens.

We went for the street light show but did play the slots there...I didn't do well there, I think they're stingier than the ones on the strip.

It's been a while since I was there though.

If all you are doing is gambling 26 days is a very long time in Vegas. A weekend can wipe you out, lol.

Also, Vegas is even hotter than Fresno...I forget where you live but be prepared for temps to be in the 100's every single day you are there. :)

We use to watch Professional Poker on tv all the time. We are fans of Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey, Phil Hellmuth aka "The Brat", John Juanda, Antonio Esfandiari, Doyle Brunson aka "Dolly", Michael Mizrachi aka "The Mouth", Scotty Nguyen, Kathy Liebert, Annie Duke, Vanessa Rousso, Jennifer Harman...…..just to name some that we have followed thru the years.

We've met Vince Van Patten, Tony Dunst and Mike Sexton (announcers for World Poker Tour)

Spent a week in Vegas and stayed at Paris Hotel and Casino in 2005 for the final weekend of the National Finals Rodeo and the following week to watch a pro-poker tournament at Bellagio's. Met some of the pro-players when they arrived.

I always play the dollar slots and win more often than not. Only put in a twenty dollar bill at a time, but one time won $500, another time $200 and other times, less. In one casino in Temecula, Calif, I won $200 (from putting in a $20) and at the other end of the casino, my wife won $200 (from a $20 also). We left! The time I won $500, I stopped playing, collected the ticket and people were looking at me wondering why I was quitting. That money was spent on a new Digital Camera.

We both have a poker game app on our iPhone and play. All fake money.

Yea, I'd say we are poker fans!

My biggest win was $1,800 on the dollar slots but that was at a casino in Fresno. That same night my ex won $1,500 on the poker machine.

In Vegas my top win was always $500. On my last trip we stayed at the MGM grand and the computers were down
At check in so went to play for awhile...I won $500 with my first $20 but it was all downhill after that.

Think I broke even that trip. I quit playing once that happens.

Actually, I do much better on slots than my wife does. Generally what I win covers what she looses. Most of the time we each have $100 to gamble with, but sometimes a little more.

Vegas has changed considerably since last time we were there in 2005. There is a place in Colorado called Black Hawk, in the Rockies, that has numerous casinos that we went to when we lived there. Hopefully we will be able to pay the town a visit again.

Am only going to play Poker only but might have $10 in a slot.... no tables like Blackjack or craps...will take a day off to see the Grand Canyon again as last time I went you could only see about 20 feet and a snow storm

I play poker I love playing poker and thankfully in the UK we can play for cash on line.

Last year for the WSOP main event the winner won $9 mil.

7400 players each paying $10k to enter.

Am not at that high level but for lesser people like me can enter for $100 play and for 3 or 4 hours and maybe win $200 to $300.

Fresno has casinos..the closest one is 15 Min from my house. They're on Indian reservations and that's why it's allowed.

    Good Luck, Tom!

We paid for my wife to get into a regular poker tournament in Vegas, but she sure didn't last long. She has more fun playing one on one against me or on her phone.

    Haha!

How long have you lived in Alaska? If you mentioned it, I forgot.

An Alaskan cruise is also on my bucket list...every single person that I know that's taken one says it's their favorite.

We've been here 29 years. The first three in the Bush, and the rest on the road system. You can also take an Alaska Ferry up from Washington or B.C. That gives you freedom to make your own schedule, and you can take your car with you and drive back if you wish. I would advise bring a companion with you if you drive back. You could bring your dog, too, is you comply with Canadian regs. Protect small dogs from eagles, however, as they occasionally snatch one.
