I rarely go shopping, but when I do usually find me in the clearance section of any store.
My daughter informed me again yesterday that the $2.99 brand new purse at Goodwill from two years ago...needed to go.
Since Walmart was only store open at 9..went this morning. Bought me a $19 purse for $5.
Later went to Kohls - found a bath room rug was$26.99...bot for $8.09.
Found package of earrings of 5 ..was$18..bot $3.50
Yesterday got free earrings and a bra at Lane Bryants...coupon and gift card.I think I am on a roll here.
So do you hunt for bargins...shop a thrift store or have a place you like to bargin hunt at?

My only go to for bargains would be Walmart. I stopped shopping at malls years ago since all the superstores like Meijers and Walmart opened. Thrifts stores, flea markets, estates sales and auctions are my next best venture for bargains. Every once in a while I'll get flyers in the mail from stores I've previously made a purchase. Way out of my budget even with the markdowns.

I haven't replied yet because I don't want it to seem I'm bragging.

I only shop with my daughter for one thing because I hate going alone.

I would say almost 90% of my clothes are from Nordstroms but usually bought on sale and not full price ...

Also, 95% of the time my daughter insists on paying.

So, basically I hardly spend money on clothes or shoes or purses so I guess it's a bargain ...for me. :)

I don't actively seek out bargains, but when I'm out shopping and I see a bargain and I need it...then yes I will snatch it up...I've got quite a lot of very expensive designer clothing at a fraction of their price just for being in the right place at the right time...

Not bragging @Chrissy Cross. I like Macy's but they are not in my town. We used to have Gottschalks. They were like a little mini Macy's and had great clearance racks.

I'm not big for shopping either and don't like to walk around the mall. Did that in the 80's though when the mall was the big thing it seemed.

I like thrift stores. All my dishes are thrifted. I don't like to pay full price unless it's something I really need. I don't buy a lot of clothes but usually get things from discount stores or maybe Penny's on occasion.

Help...have a 2009 Ford Focus...needs work on the AC to the tune of $1800.
The car according to blue book is barely worth that.Still owe $2700 on the car.
So do we go ahead and pay to have AC repaired....or try and trade infor another car ? Do not have the money really to do either. Open for advise ;)

I think I'd do without the AC.

Our stationwagon has never had AC, and we just roll the windows down in the summer. I usually only make short trips anyway, so by the time the AC got the car cooled down, we would be wherever we were going. If we had to drive very far, then it would be nice to have AC and be able to close the windows if we wanted to do that.
I think that this is a decision that only you can make, @Gloria Mitchell ; because only you and your husband know which choice would work best for you.
You might check around and see if you can get a cheaper estimate to fix the AC, also. We used to have a minivan that I really liked; but it had some brake problems. When we took it to the brake place, they said it would be over $600 to fix the brakes, which was as much as the minivan was worth.
We ended up selling the van to a man that Bobby worked with who could do his own mechanic work, and he said that part of what they said was wrong, didn’t need fixing, and the parts that he did fix were under $200 for the whole thing, a lot cheaper than what we were told.
If we had paid this man to fix our minivan instead of selling it to him, we still would have only paid about half of what the brake shop quoted to us for a price.

Oh Lordy...no question...do without the AC for a while... I have a Ford Fusion , (thankfully paid for)...but I have it serviced every year and ask them to regas it, and the AC still never works ( it might be a Ford fault).....it's irritating, but I just open the window when it gets hot...

if you can't afford to do either, then leave well alone, no point in getting into more debt for a little thing like AC... (that said if I lived in a hotter country then I'd have to have the AC or die ) lol

I'd keep it too. You also might want to check and see if there is a recall for that particular problem.
