I've hhave a new car. I've been driving a Volkswagen Beatle since 2004. It is in solid shape mechanically and a little rough on the inside. Having driven this bug for fourteen years, I feel it will go anywhere I want to go. Hears the hitch. My wife and I are getting up in years. The bug is not as easy to get in and out of as a larger vehicle. Nor is the ride as comfortable. It is a fun car to drive, more like a sports car than a family vehicle. Here was the proposal.

My son is driving a small Kia SUV for the past thirteen years. His son who is in his first year of college is driving a 2006 Ford four door Sudan. My son and his lady decided they would buy their boy a better vehicle. The daughter in law and their son wanted a Fiat 500. She is Italian, the boy who holds duel citizenship wanted the Fiat because it is an Italian car, it is small, and different. A few days ago they bought him a 2015 model in showroom condition.

They are also looking for a replacement vehicle for the Kia. They're going to trade the Ford in on a new Honda Fit. Then my son had decided it might me better to give us the Ford and trade in the VW on the Fit. So that's what happened. That's How I came to have a new car to me. The 2006 Ford is nicer inside. It looks decent and if I can still drive a big car it will serve our purpose. I haven't driven it yet but tomorrow I plan to go to the insurance office and transfer the insurance. Then see what we need to do about titles, go to the bank, and run around a bit handling other errands.

Why am I telling you all this. Because I like to write and I have nothing else in mind to write about. I thought about saying something about Ina, but I have thought about her all day and all night and have prayed for her soul and her family and much has already been said about the dear lady by others here. I guess I think she would approve my decision because she was my friend. I have a new car and my heart is so sad.

Fiat 500's are very small cars...but for the last couple of years they have been a cult car among the young here in the UK... I think mainly because they are so easy to park...but due to the fashion for having them, they're very overpriced compared to any other fiat model... I wouldn't feel safe in one, they're too small... ..however good luck with the Ford..I have a Ford also...and I love it, especially the heated windscreen as well as the rear screen, which on days like this when we have thick snow , in just a few minutes both screens are clear, and no scraping off ice, apart from the side windows... bliss!!

I know what you mean about being Sad about Ina...she was my good friend too ever since we first joined the forums even before this one ...and like you Bill, I've thought about her all day today...and I think because we'd known her for such a long time she felt like family. I spoke to her just a few days ago..and there was no sign that she was feeling so poorly..in fact she was delighted to be spending her birthday out of bed...
I think the suddenness of her death has made it all the more shocking for us all who knew her well.....to not be prepared for it..to not be able to say our goodbyes as we have done in the past with some who were terminally ill... and to wonder if she died peacefully and without pain... I think that's what's got all of us so upset today..

Bill, enjoy your car..you know Ina would be the first one to tell you to have a ball with it...

For some reason Ina was on my mind when I woke up. I did not know her well but we did share a few private messages. Perphas she is talking to us spiritually and that she is happy and wants us to be.
@Bill Boggs you are a sweetie:).
    Enjoy your new car!

I dreamt about Ina last night also, @Babs Hunt , you were in my dream too. Don't remember the details.

But both of you were on a side of a hill and the 3 of us were trying to do something but I can't remember what it was.

As for Fiats, my husband had a black fiat spider convertible in the 80's....I hated it since I couldn't drive it and the kids didn't fit.

He mainly drove it to work. I do remember it sitting around unused for awhile, maybe it needed work or something but eventually we sold it.

There are just some people who's spirit shines so brightly that you feel the warmth of that spirit even though there body is no longer with us. Ina was one of these very special people...just like my Mom.

@Bill Boggs , how do you like the Ford? I know people who won't buy anything but a Ford. I still have my DH's 1996 Ford F-150 truck. It has over 200,000 miles on it and still runs like a top. It looks good and rides good. It doesn't get very good mileage, though. It has a big engine in it..... 8 cylinder ..? It takes so much gas that it has two gas tanks on it. I only keep gas in one of them. I don't drive it often. My kids and grandkids drive it more than I do.

Like it fine,@Shirley Martin. I grew up on fords. This one kind of fell in my lap. Going to put a set of tires on it. Good to go anywhere. Will sell the VW as my son does not want to fool with it as a trade in. What are you doing with a big truck?

It belonged to my DH. I considered selling it but I decided that every family needs a truck. The taxes on it are cheap because it's so old. I only have liability insurance on it so that doesn't cost much. It's like one of those things that you don't need very often but when you need it, you need it real bad.

OK, have too agree with you, although never had a truck myself although my first car was a '29 Buick that had been made into a pick up, which don't much count.
