oooh dear Lord... it's never ending...

At least 27 people have been killed inside a Texas church - including a two-year-old child - after a gunman dressed in full combat gear opened fire during the morning service before cops shot him dead.

The shooting happened at the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, where around 50 people usually attend service, according to local reports.

Wilson County Commissioner Albert Gamez Jr told CNN that at least 27 people have been killed in the shooting, but the death toll is expected to climb.

'My heart is broken,' Gamez said. 'We never think where it can happen, and it does happen. It doesn't matter where you're at. In a small community, real quiet and everything, and look at this, what can happen.'

At least 24 others were injured in the horrific shooting. Witnesses said a man 'in full gear' walked inside the church and opened fire just before 11.30am.

First Baptist Church Pastor Frank Pomeroy told ABC that his 14-year-old daughter is among the dead. She 'was one very beautiful, special child,' the pastor said. Sherri Pomeroy, Frank Pomeroy's wife, said her husband was out of town at the time of the reported shooting.

Still no motive or much details. What a tragedy. I think here it goes again and when will it ever stop.

Think we’d better think more about these shootings in the U.S. and less about N. Korea. Not that N. Korea’s threat shouldn’t be taken seriously, but

This is an American problem that needs to be sorted out by Americans. There is nothing to say other than my thoughts are with the families of the dead and injured.

Yes, it's an American problem that remains unsolvable, because IMO the "mindset" of those precariously balanced on the fence of reality easily sway over towards use of their firearms to absolve themselves of their predicament.

Unsolvable because given the balance of firearms use statistics to: stop a crime in progress, prevent a crime about to occur, prevent heinous activity upon another, deter a potentially lethal self-defense threat, far outweigh the potential for meager gain in alleviating crime, based on presented evidence.

I didn't read that the cops shot him dead anywhere @Martin Alonzo ...all Ive heard was that these two citizens shot and chased him and then he went off the road and it's not sure if he shot himself or one of these guys did it.

I think at that point even the police were there, so it will be up to ballistics to find where the shot that killed him came from.

Can't stand when already the spin begins....both sides. :(

Also, I don't think he should have passed the background check to buy the gun. Maybe that needs to be a little tighter...someone didn't do a thorough job....maybe there should be a law that if you fail to do a proper background check you'll lose your license to sell guns.

Think they would be a lot more careful in who they sell to in my opinion.

Someone who has a record of assaulting their wife and child should not be allowed to buy a gun...no??

That's pretty much what I heard on the radio not long after the incident. But at that time, they didn't know whether he had died from his wounds, killed himself, or was shot again by the police.

From his Facebook page, before they took it down, he was Antifa, and had posted about the Antifa Civil War, which was supposed to have started this weekend.

Is there a screenshot of his FB page?

I don't see him as antifa. Just mental.

I also read he was militia. Everybody has an opinion but no real fact.
