Maybe they would let me have the ones Trump doesn't pick to put up my privacy fence between our home and the new Unit going up right across from us. On the serious side...do you really think that wall is going to be built...and if so...who do you really think is going to pay for it?
I don't think it will be built and I really don't care even living in California. There will always be ways to get around a wall. We're probably not even enforcing guarding any wall we do have now. Spend that money on trying to make the ones here legal and the ones that are illegal and criminals back to Mexico.
Bottom line is........something has to be done! There are a lot of illegals here and some have been here for years. Why haven't they become legal??? Funny how so many people want to come to the United Sates, but not conform to what we are. Some dress in their native clothes and/or others love speaking their language here. I can understand people from India when they are talking in English in front of me, but to talk to them on the phone (Customer Service), I pretty much have to hang up the phone each time and try and figure out another way to solve a problem. Whatever we have to do, but we have to do something!
When adults learn a foreign language they will always have an accent, so you may never understand them @Cody Fousnaugh ...it's not their fault, it's not your fault but it just is a fact you have to deal with somehow.
Just wondering, do you defend everyone from what others don’t like? Anywho, the Indian accent is the only one I have a real problem with.
I hope others don't dislike someone because of an accent but I wasn't defending just stating a reality.
When I lived in So Calif (Orange County), those folks sure didn’t like Southern accents. Some people visiting there from Georgia and Arkansas told me how they got teased about their accents. There are certain things I can put up with and certain things I don’t like. My wife is the same way.
That's your business. It would never cross my mind not to like someone because they had an accent. I'm done with this conversation @Cody Fousnaugh.
Even if the wall does get built, it won't stop the illegal immigrants from coming in, nor the drugs either. In my opinion there are people who have made it a "business for profit" to bring alot of the illegals in....and of course the "drug business" is very profitable for those involved in it too. These people will just find another way in if the wall is built. They are not going to let Trump's wall cut off their profits...this I am pretty sure of. Is a wall necessary? I kind of feel the same way @Chrissy Cross does. If Border Patrol really did their job and if those entering illegally were immediately sent back, plus those helping others enter illegally were sent to prison for this, etc. I believe we would see a change in the number of illegals entering America. As for those bringing drugs in... this is a much more complicated problem to solve. But I do believe we have the means to put a big damper on the illegal drugs too. To many people "profit" from these drugs...many in high places and in my opinion a big part of the reason the war on drugs rages on...is because this is a war that those who are profiting from it...don't want America to win. Trump can build his wall...and if he has enough time....he probably will. But I don't really think this will solve the illegal immigrant problem...or put a dent in the drug problem either.
