Today my first born daughter was notified that she is Milton Elementary's Teacher of the Year! All 3 of her daughters were there to share the moment with their Mom and to give her some flowers. Later during the year the School Board will honor her and the other Schools' Teachers of the Year at a Banquet and present them all with Awards, etc. My daughter is a wonderful Teacher and I am so happy the School she teaches at has recognized that and honored her today as their Teacher of the Year.
You have a beautiful family and yes you should be proud even with out the school realizing they have a great teacher. Hope this is just a start of a great career
I will always be proud of my children whether they ever get recognition for their gifts and talents or not Martin. But knowing how hard my daughters work in using their gifts and talents I am so happy when others show recognition and honor to them too.
Congratulations to her...and you! Good teachers are very important, they can make all the difference. My niece who just had her first baby is a teacher, 3rd grade but she's just starting out in her career. Think she's only taught for about 3 years maximum.
yes absolutely right to be proud of your daughter, she must have worked very hard for that achievement ... and her daughters all look exactly like her too... now how did that happen?
The kids look like their Mom and Dad because their Mom and Dad have some similiar features too @Holly Saunders.
Chrissy, I think this is the 4th year my daughter has been teaching in Public School as a Certified Teacher. While she was finishing getting her Teaching Degree she taught at Mother's Day Out for awhile, then became their Directior. That way she always had her youngest with her until they were of public school age. By the time they all were in school....my daughter had her degree and was hired at the School all her daughters have and are attending.
She teaches 2nd Grade...so she teaches all the subjects you learn in that grade. She is qualified to teach any Elementary grade but she loves teaching the youngest children best. She started out teaching 1st grade and was so good that the next year the Principle moved her up to teaching 2nd because they needed better teachers in 2nd. Since my daughter had wanted to stay just teaching the 1st graders, the Principle moved all her 1st grade students to her 2nd grade class. These past 3 years my daughter has remained a 2nd grade teacher.
Here's a recent pic of my niece in Colorado. That's her husband and her father in law who was there to visit the new baby. The in law's live in Texas.
