I'm really curious about this and if it really helps relieve pain and I think they claim nausea too.

My husband's brother who has stage 4 prostrate cancer lives in Colorado and he could try it for his pain. He may be...but my husband won't ask him if he is for some reason and I find that really funny because both of them in their younger days smoked it when it wasn't legal. :)

If I had debilitating pain or nausea I would definitely try it medically speaking. In my younger days my use of it was more recreational so I know how it affects me...but don't know if it would help pain and nausea. But I'd rather try that than all the chemical drugs being produced today.

So I'm just wondering if anyone has tried it and if it brought some relief from pain or nausea.

Ive only tried pot once in my life and didn't care for it. Don't know if I'd try it for pain or nausea, definitely wouldn't smoke it and would only get the medicinal kind in food or pill form. Don't want the getting high effects of it.

I'd rather the getting high feeling that to me was like having a couple of beers than to have all the "side effects" of all the meds they manufacture now days. If I'm ever in that situation and it's legal I probably would want to grow my own though so I would know it wasn't tainted with something else. :)

My husband and I both have green thumbs so I'm sure we could grow that well too.

I'd trust the prescription marijuana because I'm sure it's controlled. I don't Like the way I feel after a couple beers so no thanks to that.

I don't drink for a reason and the only reason is I don't like the taste or how I feel.

I don't mind a cold beer (that's one) with our seafood boils. I don't even mind a small flute of champagne at weddings, etc. but my drinking days were buried a long time ago.

If I was in constant debilitating pain or nausea I would have no problem smoking a joint to ease those things. I would rather smoke it because that way I could just put it out when the pain was eased whether I had smoked the whole thing or not. But how can you tell with a pill or whatever of marijuana if it's going to be to much or to little until after it's in your system.

I have never tried it for medical use. I think there is something to it for relieving discomfort and people should have it available. I can't see how it's different to traditionally prescribed pain medications.

As an ex smoker, there's no way I'm going to smoke anything again unless I was terminal.

There is one difference Kitty...if we could grow our own medicinal marijuana the drug companies wouldn't be able to charge us big bucks to fill a prescription they made. :)

Okay Chrissy...now I see where you are coming from. I'm not an ex smoker but I guess for some people who are smoking medicinal marijuana might make them want to go back to smoking cigarettes too. And living with a smoker (who has to do his smoking outside)...I hear you!

But you would be the target of thiefs if it you grew it outside.

It's happened in Fresno, even the dispensaries have been targeted and robbed.

Yes, I guess you would have to keep those plants discretely so no one would know if you were growing them.

I have heard there have been a lot of issues with growing in Humboldt County in California and even with growing in forests which is detrimental to the environment.

I'd get me one of those areogardens and grow it inside. :)

That's because "big businesss" is trying to grow tons of the stuff so they can make the money off of it. If we all grow our own little medicinal supply in areogardens in our homes...there would not be a problem for us or the environment.

And then of course there are all those "big business" growers growing tons of illegally too for the bucks and they are a problem too.

At this time I am glad that I do not even have that kind of pain or nausea that I would even need to even try this and I am thankful for this. But I know there are lots of people that do have that kind of pain and/or nausea, etc. who are probably paying a lot of money for pain pills, etc. that Drug Companies manufacture and that besides horrific side effects also are very addictive. From my hippie years I know marijuana doesn't cost much to grow and I know the side effects of smoking a joint too. So this would definitely be something I would consider trying if I ever found myself in this position. I definitely would hope it would be legal where I live then too for medicinal purposes.

Drug Companies will probably try to get control of medicinal marijuana so they can still charge us an "arm and a leg" for it ... but I would hope these same Drug Companies would not be be given the rights to all useage of marijuana...which they would probably try to do if there are enough studies done that prove it does relieve chronic pain and nausea, etc. without the many side effects, etc. of chemical compounds.

Ok...pot smoking 101... Yes for many it will relieve pain and nausea. Everyone is different though.
    There are different varities.
I would suggest medical in a form other than smoking if possible..only because it smells worse than ciggs.
One joint untainted can be the equal to 5 cigs...there again depends on variety and
and how you smoke it. A bong maybe ?
Plus since you do not know the street language and process...and for it to be pure...ask dr for prescription. And if its prescribed by a doctor you are legal.
I personally would smoke pot before taking all that other crap.
Now this is my only input for now...if you have questions ask. No I do not smoke it now...not since Jan 6th 1986! After getting hold of some really laced stuff..thought i would die..so did my friend. So spraled out I told the Lord...please let me live and I promise I will never do this again...unless I am terminal. I keep my promises:p:D
