While waiting on a package, I decided to use the USPS tracking with message updates.
Fun at first to watch the route my package was taking getting to me.

A few minutes ago, I received a message on my phone, that the package arrived at my zip code
and departed my zip code, heading to another zip code 10 miles down the road.

    ???...why, I ask.

I think I was happy in my ignorance.

Update: Received another message that the package is BACK at my zip code and will be delivered today.
    Guess they caught the mistake.

I'll be using this tracking method again.
Still fun to watch how things move around...

Got a little bored, so started working on my Darth Vader costume. Have to check all the lights to make sure all work and a couple of other things.

Watched part of Trump's speech at Trump Tower. The man does have a mouth! Problems with North Korea and now America. What I don't see is any Trump supporters whenever he does a speech away from the White House.

    Anyway........

Trust me, @Cody Fousnaugh , we are out here. We just don't march and protest and tear down monuments, riot, pillage and burn.

It's 7pm here now...still sunny and warm..but forecast to rain overnight...

Just been out for lunch, and did the supermarket shopping on the way back...it was really relaxing sitting in the sun in the pub garden by the riverside...

Last month was Robin's birthday (my daughter), and I ordered her a new iPad case and had it sent through Amazon, and it was supposed to have the little gift card so she would know who it was from.
She never mentioned getting it; but I knew that she was busy at work, and I had received the alert from Amazon that said it was delivered; so I didn't really worry about it.
Today, we were chatting on our ipads, and I asked her if she had received the ipad case and whether it fit right or not.
She answered something like "Well, that is good to know ! "; so I asked her why that was.
It turned out that she had just ordered herself an ipad case, and then mine showed up just when it was expected; but it wasn't the one she thought she had ordered.
She looked back at her Amazon orders, and she had ordered the one she thought she had, and not the one that came in the mail for her; so she had no idea where she got the "mystery cover" from.
Amazon had cancelled her original order, so she had been happily using the one that I sent, even if it did puzzle her.
So now, her mystery is solved. Here is our conversation:

It's been a simply wonderful day today. :) Good health news for my husband. And a call from my sister in Pensacola telling me she and her husband will be coming to Lafayette on Sunday to visit her husband's mother and she will visit with me too while they're in. They will be here until next Thursday and she has invited me to go back home with them so I can finally spend some more time at the beach. That still leaves me without a ride back though...so I will have to do some thinking on how I can make this work if I want to go back with them.

My trip I wanted to make to Florida earlier had to be canceled because of "Harvey" and after that one thing after another kept popping up so I couldn't reschedule. I've been longing for the beach and a visit with my sisters too and maybe this will be my chance to finally get over there. If not, something else will work out before the end of the year and I will spend time on the beach and with some of my sisters. It's going to happen but today I don't really care when...I just care that today we found out we no longer have to worry about my husband having prostrate cancer. I feel like the world has lifted off of my shoulders. :)

It's been a day. I wanted to get out today, to do something, go some where, maybe a book store or to Academy, maybe a tee shirt. By the time I had taken my medicine and washed the breakfast dishes, wipe off the cabinet and stove, I sit down and made a grocery list. We went to the store and back home. I did have a bit of good news. I got a letter from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol telling me they had received some positive information concerning my health and they were dropping the requirement I make periodic reports to them and thanked me for my cooperation over the past six years. Tonight I watched the last episode of Ken Burns 'VietNam." I didn't do anything I wanted to do. But that's okay. Tomorrow is another day.

If that is the same Vietnam shows that I had watched, I was sort of shocked that the show had former Viet Cong and North Vietnamese Army people discussing their strategies (IOW, killing) of American soldiers and Marines. I wasn't part of the "Ground Forces" there, since I was in the Navy, but I was still off the coast providing support for our "Ground Forces".

Actually, Bill, I was wondering if we had watched the same program? Did we?
And, your thoughts on interviewing of the people who had been a part of the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese Army?
I seriously doubt, if I had done that documentary, I would have included them.
    Your thoughts

@Cody Fousnaugh Ken Burns documentary has been a recent thing. A ten part, eighteen hour long documentary spread over a week or so. If you watched recently I'm sure we did watch the same documentary. Cody I think by including the Viet Cong and North VietNam statements one get a truer picture, a more complete document of what actually happened. I guess if I had ken Burns talent I would have included everything he did include, otherwise we would have gotten a one sided view. But it depends on one's point of view. If it had not been included I think I would have wondered about what North Vietnam's strategist thought about the whole thing. It's a judgement call in my opinion.

To say the least, it was interesting. Have to admit, it was interesting hear from former Viet Cong and North Vietnamese Army people. I just wonder how the American guys that fought both of them felt about including those people.

I was living in Southern California when the “boat people” (aka South Vietnamese) showed up there. Thing was, since South Vietnamese and North Vietnamese are from the same country, nobody knew if there were North Vietnamese or Viet Cong infiltraters in the boats as well.

And what needs some Vietnam Vets is that we are trading with Vietnam......of which is a Communist country now. All of it.

It takes some of us longer to get over it all than others. They faced the same death and destruction we did with much less to do with. We invaded their homeland. I can remember after war two until long after the Korean war, some veterans of the War 2 pacific theatre would not buy anything made in Japan, including an uncle of mine. We used to sit in a cafe and drink coffee and smoke cigarettes and talk about how he wouldn't do this or that. I told him about inexperience I had in Japan, how I tried to date a Japanese girl , a nurse working at a local hospital. Her brother located me in this small town said his dad wouldn't permit his daughter to day anyone not Japanese and wanted me to come to dinner, would i please say yes. I dressed for the occasion which was limited because I was on R&R from Korea. This doctor had graduated fromColumbia. He had three brothers also educated in the US, one at Harvard, the other two at Mass University of Technology. He was head surgeon at the local hospital All his brothers had been killed he War 2. He survived. It was enlightening to visit with this man who had lost so much in war and afterwards. I tried to answer his questions about the US now and my thoughts on that war. We are mostly all alike, The world over we want a home, want to raise our kids right, educate them give them, give a better life than we had, be employed, enjoy a little happiness. This is a human thing. Our side is not always right. In a few years none of it will make any great difference. The Vietnamese, like us are part of the human race. I was glad to hear their his story. Just my opinion.

I'll never know if the conversation between my uncle and myself had any bearing on anything or not. If it had of he would never have admitted it and I didn't care because it was just conversation. He and I did speak of things to each other we would not have said to another living person. He was a self made man and I respected him.

About a month later his daughter
who had married a guy from New York a year or so before was living in New York and they were having some problems and she wanted to come home. He went down to the dealership that handled Toyotas, bought a top of the line four door sedan and he and my aunt drove to New York, loaded up his daughter, arranged to ship home what she wanted shipped, and started a vacation down the coast, whatever his daughter and his wife wanted to do or go they did. Back home his wife drove a big Chrysler, he drove his work car which was a dodge pickup. He gave his daughter the toyota.
