Even though my good news isn't as exciting as @Babs Hunt 's or @Yvonne Smith's it's still exciting for me.

I just got a call from the Physical Therapy place and my insurance approved me, yay...I think. Hope it's not too brutal.

My first appointment is October 17th at 10:00am. I could have gone a day earlier but that appt time was at 5:00 pm....that's almost my bedtime, lol. J/k but not too far off.

Hope it helps my shoulder at least...I don't have to much faith that it will help my back but who knows.
I just want to be able to stretch my arm out without pain.

Their location is also perfect, very close....and just across from Trader Joe's. :)

That's wonderful news Chrissy and I will be praying along with others who want to see you get some relief from your pain and be able to use that arm like you want too. :)

I hope it helps your back too. :)

Chrissy, there is a good chance that the PT will also help your back. Before I started doing the swimming and water exercises, all my muscles were out of shape, and I had days when my back just locked up and went into spasms so bad that I could barely make if from the bed to the bathroom and back, and NO where else besides that.
The exercises have also strengthened my back, and even though it is still something that occasionally happens, it is not nearly as often, and usually goes away faster now, too.
It helped my bad knee a whole lot ! I literally could not bend that knee, kneel on it, or even get up if I fell because i couldn’t use my knees.
The doctor gave me one of those cortisone shots in the knee which stopped the pain for a few months (or at least lessened it), and then I started doing the knee exercises in the water. it will never be perfect because it has deteriorated so much from the arthritis, but it works much better than it did 2 years ago, and the only major difference was the exercise.

Thanks for the good wishes everyone! :)

I'm excited about this but also a little worried that it will hurt more before it gets better. Especially since Ive been so lazy lately.

If's it's anything like going to the Chiropractor then it probably will be hurt more before it starts getting better. Since your not really using those muscles much, etc. they will have to learn to stretch and flex again and that will probably cause some discomfort for a short time. But I believe if you really work with your PT Chrissy you will see a big difference in time and far less pain too. Read @Steve North's posts about his PT....and you will probably experience a little of what he did.

Ive read all his posts @Babs Hunt, that's why I'm a little apprehensive. :)

Maybe I should have agreed to the epidural last week and then had the PT but who knows if my ins would have paid for both.

I think you made the right choice Chrissy. Your PT should know how to help you and cause the least discomfort for you that there can be. In a way it's very much like not having exercised for a really long time...when you start working those muscles again they "protest" for a little while. But your PT will also tell you how you can make that discomfort more comfortable. One thing I know about you Chrissy....you are not a wimp girl. You can do this and I know after a short time you will be glad you did do it because I see you feeling much better all over. :)

I'll have to remind myself of all the pep talk when I'm probably thinking about quitting. Haha
