So was Nelson Mandela a savior of the country or a criminal? What are the thoughts? He was convicted based on having accumulated thousands of war-making munitions, was he not? Relying on memory here. At whom the battle was to be aimed, I'm not sure, likely government leaders. Released from prison, he was elected President. This ruckus couldn't happen here! Imprisoned, even Bill Clinton would have lost re=election! Frank
They are trying hard to stop the news out of South Africa. There is a white genocide happening in South Africa that the media is not covering. The government is even chanting kill the whites and this is also not covered. There is a ray of hope coming from the King of the original people of South Africa King Cornelius pushing for secession of the southern part to be governed by the King with whites, blacks, and indigenous people. The blacks in South Africa were not the indigenous people they came from the north and took over. The Khoi are the real people of South Africa not the black invaders. The Khoi welcome the Boer and worked with them to defend them from the invading black from the north. Secession of Good Hope Edited
@Martin Alonzo Here's how I remember the news, i.e., Nelson Mandela. He carried on an active campaign against the government, during which he amassed (supposedly) a great number of artifices of warfare, perhaps hand-held missiles. Sentenced to life in prison, he served 27 years. He went on to be elected President of South Africa. Compare that history to the flimsy, uninteresting, scandal ridden Presidencies of the U.S. of recent years...... Frank
Now the president of South Africa thinks he can gain a lot of power by turning the people against the white minority and taking what they have without compensation or by killing them. He has big rallies chanting kill the white people. They are not allowed to take anything of value if they leave the country.
Well who is going to stop it? England? Scotland who would like to be independent, I think. Maybe the Scots could help. The Russians might help if they just knew about it. Or China. I understand they have been exploring diplomatic avenues with some of these African countries. Maybe they could lend a hand. I look at the world, all around the globe and I see no one else, unless it be Cuba. Maybe, just maybe there is no help. Who else is there?
It's never good to hear bad news, but it's nice to know America is far from being the only one with problems.
That would be a lot more impressive if he wasn't sitting at a cloth covered table out on a lawn somewhere. That makes it sound like some kind of tribal unrest, rather than a true revolution.
I am not a politician just an old retired person who watches what goes on but doesn't interfere. I am a bystander of life and that is where I want to be. It makes what goes on in the world a lot clearer.
Mmmm, Let's see. Trying to overthrow apartheid a good thing or a bad thing? Such a difficult question. Not.
