One of my favorite things with the iPhone camera is that it takes what is called "Live Photos" . These are just a regular photo; but they also have a few seconds of video along with them. They can be posted anywhere that you post a regular photo, like on the forum, or on Facebook, and they are only a photo.
However, when you look at them with an Apple phone, tablet, or computer, and you touch the picture with your finger, that activates the video, complete with sound.

Yesterday, Bobby was testing out his new chainsaw on one of the tree limbs; so I went out to watch, and also took a picture of him, which I then posted on Facebook.
I also iMessaged it to my kids, and when they looked at it, they could actually watch Bobby cut off the limb, and listen to the chain saw.
When Robin and I were in Idaho, my grandson (who is a pilot) took people (not me !) up for a plane ride, and when he flew over my son's house I was able to take a picture of the plane, and with live photo, you can watch the plane flying across the sky and hear the engine.

We have flags (American flag and police flag) flying from our front porch, and when you look at the picture, you can see the flags waving in the wind.
There are just SO many nifty ways that you can use the Live Photos, and I am really glad that I have that on my iPhone camera.
Does anyone else who has the iPhone or iPad use this feature ?

I had it on my 6 Plus, so you should also have it on the 6 , @Hoot Crawford .
Look in your photo stream, and across the top row of pictures, mine says "all photos, people, places, videos, selfies, Live Photos, and something called bursts".
Even if you do not see that, you can try a test to see if you have it. Take a picture of someone and have them wave and say hi to you. Then , open up the picture in your photostream, and hold your finger on it, and if you have live photo, then you will see it moving.
(If you don't, then it is time for a new iPhone...)

Okay, I just looked, and it is on the 6s or 6sPlus, so if yours is not an S model, then it might not have this feature.

Today, I discovered a new feature about the iphone camera that I had not tried before. It has a setting for “portrait” when you are taking a picture, and I had read about it when Apple announced it; but had not taken any portraits to test it out on.
What it does, is enhances the focal point of the photo, and blurs the background.

Since I was outside with my phone anyway (Robin gave me a pink fairy eggplant start and I wanted to send her a picture), I thought I would try a picture of one of the irises.
I am amazed at how well it turned out, the iris flowers just popped out, and the background is a nice haze. I am definitely going to be using this feature more from now on and get more familiar with what all it can do.
    I LOVE my iPhone ! !
