I make it a point to try to recall what I dream. I truly believe the insight the dream world brings is meant to help us problem solve and grow. I do not like some of the symbols I get, but consider them just the same. In another thread it was said "Why can I not remember the good ones? Sometimes I too feel like ever single dream is odd and weird. Why can I not be the person that dreams that it all works out wonderfully. Sunshine rainbows and unicorns right?

I think I am a person that thinks on a logical track, and for this reason I have dreams based in what I might be able to realistically accomplish. that does not mean that I can ever realistically hope to fly or any of the other weird dream things I do, but I can obtain the level of solution to whatever is on my mind at the time. If only I take the time to sift down to understand what that (the dream images) means.

I have a lot of those kind too. Also sometimes I'm in some sort of a conflict I can't seem to resolve and I'm usually in a strange city.

Yes, I do like to dream. I would like to remember my dreams from every single night. I seldom have nightmares, not more than 1 or 2 a year.

One recurrent theme that I have in dreams is the "combination" town or city. I often seem to be in a place that is made up of different parts of different towns. Sometimes, this takes on a slightly surreal element when a town in the UK has elements of a town in Africa.

If you have a vivid recollection of that dream ,Tom, you should paint it. Doesn't matter if you're an artist or not. Art is better when you don't render what you see but rather what you feel. Your town/city can be Surrealistic like Dali or out of perspective like the Expressionists. Even Van Gogh, an Impressionist, painted his town out of perspective and it was better that way. Paint it the way you dreamed it.
    Here's Van Gogh's...Don't you agree?

The level of surrealism in my "mixed town" dreams is very low compared to the times when I lived in Africa and had to take anti-malarial tablets every day. One of the side effects was strange dreams. I didn't get them that often, but I had quite a few that were positively psychedelic. They came in vivid technicolour and featured all kinds of strange things. The dreams were not frightening, just utterly bizarre.

I experienced that when I was coming off a brief time of blood thinners. Beautiful scenes like a slow slide show of painted art that was gorgeous and surprisingly avant-garde. That kind of creativity and bold imagination doesn't come to me naturally. It only happened a few times and then no more. I wanted to jump up and paint it. I still could I think. It was about 3 years ago. It was that vivid.

I like to dream and for the most part I seldom have a nightmare. Many of my dreams involve packing and not being ready for a trip...always going to miss a flight because I cant find something. Same dream but different variations on this theme

Also have the ones where i didnt study for a test or I cant remember my locker combination but these are becoming rarer....its the packing ones now.

Also, people are not the right ages and mixed in my dreams....I'll be young but my daughter will be the age she is now, 44.

I usually remember a portion of my dreams upon waking but as the day progresses I forget.

I have always dreamed a lot and most are pleasant, some very complicated and worthy of looking into, but I always forgot them shortly after waking up. I did study dream interpretation a few years ago, and found it very interesting, but no longer analyze my dreams, just enjoy them.

Because my sleep patterns became pretty poor as I aged, I started taking a sleeping pill called zopiclone (zolpidem, zaleplon, eszopiclone and lunesta) which is known to be hallucinogenic, I had a great time with some amazingly psychedelic nights, though you become tolerant after a short time.
I still use it in tiny doses, to send me off in the middle of the night, and it works for that even after 4 years of use. Sadly the dreams are more normal these days, but still pretty good, often a lot of nonsense but never bad or in the nightmare category.

    Youre weird!

Im only saying that because I know you fairly well, dont want people to think Im mean, lol.

I would not want to take anything that causes anything hallucinogenic, that would scare me. i am someone who needs to be in control.

I was once on an antidepressant that gave me very scary lucid dreams, to the point I was afraid to go to bed...quit that one right away.

It's no coincidence that all the best bands and artists produced so many of their best works while on drugs!

I've always been interested in dreams, other's as well as my own.

I few years ago I took anti-depressants for a few months and wow! I had the craziest, the most bizarre dreams imaginable. They were very interesting sometimes beautiful and exciting to me.

Friends and I have tried to figure dreams out and found that usually something that happened in life recently, touched off a dream of some kind of deep longing, fear, happiness or need; always something emotional.

When I was a child, I used to love my dreams of flying!

I usually enjoy my dreams and can still remember quite a lot of them.
