Today, I achieved a short term goal, one that turned long term. I made my bed as it were. (Referring to the book by Admiral William H. McRaven, retired ). I stepped on the scales this morning and behold and lo, 179.0 pounds. Been twenty years since I've weighed that amount. If my arm was longer, I'd reach over and pat myself on the back and whisper, good boy. What I mean by I started something, is I posted an article in "Reading and Writing" that probably should have been posted elsewhere, giving rise to a string of articles and comments that that maybe didn't go in the reading and writing section. I guess I knew better but new folks on the forum didn't. Sometime I question my own judgement and sometime I fail as when Joe called me out on my comment in the Religion Forum. I think we best return Reading & Writing to the proper status it held before I debased it. Apologies to all.
Well done Bill - would still like to see your comments though, that's what a forum is all about Whether we agree with them does nay matter - sometimes we have to speak up otherwise the cork may hit the ceiling !
Don't know what you're referring to @Bill Boggs ...just got to my daughter's but if something is wrong or in the wrong section on here.... It's my fault! I'm the forum messer upper...taking threads off topic, posting in the wrong section, etc. If something is so terribly off @Ken Anderson can move it. I like this forum because it's casual, you don't have to get dressed up or even spell correctly to post. Congratulations on the weight loss!!
Thanks. And here I am wearing a tie and jacket...it's a wonder I'm not driving on the wrong side of the highway.
Thankfully, we don't have to be perfect to be on this board. Personally, I can't stand perfect people, anyway. I have only ever known a few and they irritated the heck out of me. Is that Laurel and Hardy?
It is them and the Appreciation Society is showing all their movies over here on TV. Good to see them again
