In the news today.... Train station surveillance cameras have captured footage of the moment a man stole a wedding ring and backpack belonging to one of the stabbing victims who died defending two teenage girls on a MAX train in Portland. Police are hunting for the opportunistic thief who grabbed the personal items belonging to Ricky Best, a Portland employee and retired Army platoon sergeant, who was stabbed to death alongside 23-year-old Taliesin Myrddin Namkai-Meche, after they stepped in to defend the teens on Friday. Micah David-Cole Fletcher, 21, who also intervened in a bid to stop Jeremy Joseph Christian's racist tirade against the 16-year-old and her Muslim friend, was stabbed in the neck and required surgery to remove bone fragments from his throat. Police say some of the contents of the backpack are important to the Best family. That is sickening, hope they get the ................and throw away the key !! What a rotten world we live in, we shouldn't have to put up with trash like this
We don't live in such a rotten world. Just take a look at all the good things people do for others at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Of course, two days out of the year sure isn't that good.
@Patsy Faye I suspect the missing word above would be similar or identical to my own explicitly shown word, noun, describing Washington political scoundrels. Frank
Well they've arrested the thief now.... George Tschaggeny, 51, is accused of taking the ring off of Ricky Best's lifeless finger just moments after he was stabbed to death alongside 23-year-old Taliesin Myrddin Namkai-Meche, when they stepped in to defend two teenage girls last Friday. The suspected thief was wearing Best's ring when officers arrested him Friday morning beneath an overpass, Sgt Pete Simpson said. Tschaggeny also took other personal items belonging to the slain Army veteran before fleeing the train, it is claimed. He has been charged with second-degree theft, tampering with physical evidence and second-degree abuse of a corpse. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4568070/Man-arrested-ring-took-Portland-hero-s-finger.html
It's simply ransacking taken to another level. The scum and thugs that come out of the woodwork like cockroaches when a disaster such as a tornado strikes is absolutely astounding and sickening. In war, it is a commonplace sight to see people pilfering from the pockets and bodies of the dead looking for money, watches, etc. When a plane crashes they have to have armed guards around the sites in order to keep the bottom feeders from stealing wallets, jewelry, tech or whatever they might wish to find. There were so many of them when the tornadoes came through a few years ago that the city had to declare martial law. Businesses that were normally open until later hours had to close early so their employees could get home before the 7:00pm. deadline.
