That is an excellent point, @Martin Alonzo , and we have certainly seen people getting over the fence and right up to the White House (if not into it) several times in the last few years. We even had someone land their helicopter right on the lawn, if I remember right, just to prove how easy it was to do.
With all of the crazy misinformation that is being put out by the fake news reporters, and so many people that are haters of the president, it is important. That he does whatever is necessary to keep himself safe. If he thinks that he has better security there than at the White House, then he should be staying where he is safe.
I am sure that they discussed all of this before the decision was made, and however it is done, keeping our president safe and alive is the most important thing, regardless of how it is being paid for. Obama never seemed to worry how much it was costing for him and his whole family to travel around everywhere, and he was not even trying to pay for any of that himself like President Trump is doing.

My guess is that Trump believes, with some evidence, that the majority of the "intelligence community" does not want him to succeed and, from the leaks, it is clear that some of them are actively working against him. I have no doubt that many of them are still reporting to Obama. Can he trust the Secret Service?

We're not talking about a simple difference in political party, as we have in other presidential races, where it really didn't matter whether the Republican or the Democrat won. We're talking about a change in an agenda that is awfully important to some very powerful people, and I'm thinking that Trump feels safer at Trump Tower, not only for his personal safety but for the sake of security as well, since Obama has had eight years to bug the White House.

I just don't know how he can feel safe in downtown manhatten living in a penthouse with so many other people in the same building.

You don't think his security team is smart enough to do a sweep and debug the whitehouse??

Given that so few of his own people have been approved or put in place, I don't know that his security team be any different than the security team that would have set it up to begin with, assuming that he would not be allowed to use a private security team at the White House. Once he gets his people in the key positions in these agencies, the situation might begin to change, but right now they're still working for Obama.

So is it his security that protects him at Trump tower or the secret service?

I have always been for Trump, and I will always support him unless he did something that was totally "not like him" which I do not expect to ever happen.

I think his security team is smart enough...but they'd have to be sweeping and debugging 24/7 and they would have time for nothing else!

Well once it's debugged, it's not that hard to keep up...I'm sure there are devices for it. I doubt they go on their hands and knees....

Also, if the secret service is also at Trump Tower, how do you know they're not putting bugs there...or who knows what's in condos under his...maybe it's not a Trump supporter who is his neighbor.

I just see a place like Trump tower just too busy with a lot of everyday people...rich ones but still...

Is every single person that does business there or lives there checked when they walk through the front doors?

I'll have to look up the place...I do know that downtown Manhatten is a zoo...have been there. NYC is a zoo, full of crazy people.

I have to agree! But, I must at the same time remind myself you are not really a Californio.......just happen to live there now.

You're right, I'm not a Californian...actually I don't know what I am. I'll have to see what place or state I lived the longest in...I think it might be Illinois but I'm not sure.

I'll get back on this after I think of how long I lived in places. :)
