I am not a Registered Democrat and I receive in the mail today from the DNC a Survey Request complete with my very own registration number and a convenient envelope for my contribution. They gotta be kidding.

Trash it or reply and tell them to ask for donations from people who voted for them...Illegals. :)

Hope I don't get one....too sick to get my mail.

Here's an idea. Find all the junk mail you can. Get the neighbor's junk mail if necessary. Stuff the return envelope as full as you can get it. Drop it in the mail. Hey, the post office needs the business. :D The DNC will be jumping up and down with delight, thinking you must have sent lots and lots of money. The sit back and grin. Revenge is sweet sayith the Lord. Or something like that. :D

Now that I shred and compost my junk mail, I don't usually notice who it's from, since I don't even open it, but I used to make a point of mailing back any post-paid envelope that I received, stuffed with whatever junk mail I might have received that day.

Confession time. Once, when I was young and evil, I signed up for pretty much everything that I came across in the names and addresses of people who I didn't like,.

Yeah, I'm guilty as well but with a twist. I stuck to the "get rich quick" schemes. Once a single scheme gets an address, they sell it to the other schemers who in turn send their propositions to the unlucky individual. If perchance they sign up for even one " trial offer" the mail box could not hold all of the garbage.

That said, karma does exist for in the early days of the internet I wanted to get more information about something and before I knew it I was deleting upwards of 50 or 60 email scams ( or spam as we call it now) a day.

@Ren Tanner I get "junk" email like that but from the Republican side. I love it when they say since I'm one of their biggest contributors they just know I'm going to send more and they just want to make it convenient for me.

My regular mail is always full of charities sending me "donation" stuff. I regularly donate to our favorite causes but once you do that....every "cause" under the sun gets your name and address and wants you to help them too. And then they send you address labels and other "gifts" to "woo" you into writing that check. o_O I got nine 2017 Calendars this year, flower seeds, stickers, nickels and dimes, note pads, birthday and other holiday cards, etc. all from charities wanting me to donate. I told my Honey if they would stop "gifting" us with things and use that money for their charity, they wouldn't need a donation from us.

I'm not going to send a donation just because I get a gift that I never asked for and I'm not going to pay postage to send it back to them either.o_O

@Ken Anderson "Once, when I was young and evil......"

One can be young only once, but once evil can one be evil only once?

Hey @Frank Sanoica, I like your new signature. I use tell my sons the same thing when they were youngsters. Then it got to be a contest with them to see just who was best. Sometimes when I would have company, one or the other of the boys would run into the room and make a comment such as, "I hit it straight on mom". I got some funny looks, but I seldom explained unless asked.

Now steering back onto the topic.

I remember when my husband was excited about the Paper Reduction Act. It was his job to make sure all junk mail and old mail was burnt in an old 55 gallon burn barrel. When he realized that the act didn't make a difference in the amount of junk mail we received, this became one of his pet peeves. Believe it or not, someone stole that barrel just after he died. I'm trying find another one, but all I can find right now are made of plastic.

There's actually supposed to be an address or number you can call to stop receiving "junk" mail....but I don't remember what it is now and I often wondered just how they would figure out what I consider junk and what they consider junk. :)
