Had a weird one this morning just before I woke up. Wife and I went to a mall to shop and when we came out, our car was gone. Then it got really weird. No one cared. I called the cops and they wouldn't help, the mall security wouldn't help and everyone just stood around and stared at the empty spot where I had parked. Then, thank heavens, I woke up. I felt very uneasy for a few minutes. Didn't like that dream at all.

After I was online awhile early this morning, I went back to sleep for a few hours. I awoke at 6am from a disturbing dream. That alone is unusual, since my dreams are nearly always pleasant.

I dreamed I was in a POW camp being run by SS officer Reinhard Heydrich. For some reason he singled me out for special work details. No matter how well I did my job, he always found some reason to punish me.

Finding a thin steel rod one day, I sharpened a needle sharp point on one end by rubbing it on concrete. My plans were to bury it in Heydrich's chest next time I was close enough, even though I knew I would be killed. Then I woke up.

True, I watch a lot of WW2 documentaries. I hope this dream is just residue from them.

Last night I had a dream that was not particularly dramatic or exciting, but contained one very strange element. There were quite a few people in it, most of whom were unfamiliar to me, but there was one person that I knew. Well, sort of. The character exists only in fiction; this I know because I created her in the novel I completed this year. I'll take that as encouraging - I managed to create a character memorable enough (at least in my own mind) to make her way into a dream.

I'll bet it was thrilling to see her come "alive". Congratulations on your novel! Keep us updated on the publishing. Other than fiction, what genre is it? Drama, comedy, romantic, sci-fi, mystery...?

Not usually. Like Scrooge, it is merely "a bit of beef, or a crumb of cheese" that I had eaten.;)

I must concede that I got a bit of a surprise, although the character concerned is based on somebody, but this was definitely the fictional version.

The publisher tells me that it is due for release on January 29th next year. The cover is ready and they have put "Fiction/Humorous" on it. Fiction, unquestionably. Humorous, I hope.

It revolves around a character that is positively awful, based on an old boss I had. The setting is Edinburgh and my anti-hero runs a small business. He is a complete fantasist and a total philistine. An anti-hero is so much easier to create than a hero.

I don't dream as much as I used to, but I also don't sleep as much as I used to, except when the chronic fatigue has kicked in. I do dream in color. Mainly what i'll remember is snippets, upon waking. I've dreamt of the lottery numbers before, but of course, upon waking, the numbers are gone.
