Over the many years of my life, I have discovered that the only time I dream is just before I get ill. And the dreams are really crazy,,,, sort of tumbling in space or running with no particular reason or destination. Just strange. Does anyone else find that the only time they dream is before the onset of an illness?

From what I have read, the deeper that you sleep, the less likely that you are to remember what you dream. If you are about to get sick, maybe you are not sleeping as well as you would otherwise, so you remember your dreams better.
One of the worst dreams that I remember having was that I was dangling by a rope which was tied to the calf of my leg. I was way up at the top of some skyscraper and could see the street lights and cars going past on the street a long ways beneath me.
It was like something that you would see in a movie.

Even when I woke up, it took me a long time to actually remember that I was in the hospital and had a badly broken leg , which was undoubtedly why my leg was hurting so bad in the dream.
The next morning, I told my doctor that I did not want anymore of whatever kind of pain medicine that they had given me the night before because the nightmares were awful.
After that, I didn't have such terrible dreams.

I usually recall at least a portion of what I dream, but I agree that being sick or taking certain types of medication can make you have all sorts of nightmares. The one medication I take for my blood pressure I used to take at dinner and I started to have these dreams that really produced quite a bit a anxiety. They were not full blown nightmares, they were more along the lines of feelings of un-easiness or something like that. So I started to take that medication in the morning instead and it seems to work.

Because I journal I do keep track of what I dream. It is interesting to notice, sometimes only in retrospect, that there was indication that something was amiss. Of late I have found that I have been waking early, and when I try to go back to sleep, I seem to have very disturbing dreams in the lighter phase of sleep. hardly resting and they do stay with you for awhile. The feelings they produce that is.

I have noticed though, before the onset of a serious illness I have had indications that I was not feeling well reflected in my dream world. At times I might see a food I should eat. One time I actually dreamt of seeing a virus replicate and then I was sick soon after. I suppose it is possible for the body to let you know when things are happening on the inside.

Not really, but I have found that whenever I am actually ill or about to get ill, I dream on rain or other water sources, but I always end up wet by such water.

Depending on the stage of the illness the water is dark and troubled, but clear when in recovery stage. Strange but coming totally as I'm narrating, not really influencing myself to dream this way.

:oops:Dreaming and getting sick doesn't happen to me. I've have dreamed and it happens which is very scary at times when it happens. Usually it's just dreams of something that makes no sense in my life so I guess it's just a release of stress I suppose. Dreams are sometimes fun too though it makes no sense at the time I awake and try to put my dream into prospective of today.

I have dreamed many dreams but when i dream about me running like crazy , sort of someone was running after me but i could not see that someone in my dream, i would get very very alarmed. Call it syncronicity or coincidence but some health problems would occur. I would pray and pray then to counter that warning and dream.
