I have an iPad Air. That much @Yvonne Smith drummed into my thick head. I bought it less than 18 months ago.

I have never figured out what actions would allow me to copy and paste on this thing. Such as in the games, there is a game that tells you to copy the current list and paste it to the next post, then add your contributions.

Well I haven't figured out to do that yet. Can one of you kind souls enlighten me please.

It took me forever to learn how to copy and paste from YouTube, but once I learn, and keep doing it, it will finally sink into my hard head.

    Hi Ina,

This is a bit hard to understand, I think he's Australian. But the video/picture itself is pretty good. See if you can follow this. You can always pause the video, and go back if you miss something. I'll see what else I can find;)

By the way, the title is stupid on this video. Cutting text is totally different than copying. You would not want to cut at all, because that removes the text from the original spot. So just watch where you see the "copy" appears on the little menu when you tap the text Ina. Once you select "copy" then you just, simply go to "where" you want to paste in the text, and tap again which brings up the little menu, but this time you select "paste"

It's been two days and I can get it to work one word at a time, but that's it. I told you I was dense.

If the video is right, and you see those little, blue circles, you hold your finger on either of those, and drag it over "all" you want to paste.

So if you have a really long sentence something like this one.

See the sentence above Ina, and if you get even one or two words highlighted, then once its highlighted the blue balls are supposed to appear. Is that happening? If so, tap and hold the one closest to the rest of the text or paragraph you want to highlight. Like if you have "this one" highlighted, press the blue ball next to the "t" in this, and drag it back over the text that comes before, to highlight the whole sentence. The menu should appear and you can then select "copy" or "cut".

Let me know, take your time, and practice practice practice, you'll get it, sometimes by accident, lol:) But you can do this;) denise

While I'm working on this, please check your email. The friend that broke my Nikon bought and brought me the one I sent the info on. What do you think? Call me.

If you look at the picture I am including of your post, you will see that there is a blue color over the words, and 4 little balls at each edge, and over the top, it says "copy" along with the other options.
To do this, you touch the first word you want to copy, and then drag your finger across the sentence until everything you want to copy is blue. Sometimes, you might have to do it a few times to practice it and then you will see how it works.
Once you have the words all in blue, then choose the "copy" option, and the whole sentence will be copied.
Now, go to where you want to paste the sentence, and touch your finger until you see the word "paste" on the screen. Choose that option, and it will paste the words you copied.
If you still have trouble, just message me on the ipad, and I will walk you through it .

You'll be able to point & shoot with that, probably can set it on "auto" mode like I do with my 200 dollar camera. I think it's a dandy because you can keep it simple or learn to do your own settings like Aperture, Shutter Speed, and ISO. It's in depth and hard for me to do, so I just shoot on auto setting. It sets itself according to conditions, how much light etc. I would never have given up my simpler, little Kodak easyshare (I think that was what it was called).

But the beauty of a more "mid-priced" camera is you can do either;)

Yvonnes pic is good, it shows much better than the video. To learn these things, for most of us, it takes trying it, reading the instruction, trying it, and reading again;) Did you tell me you have a keyboard with your IPAD, or was that someone else? If it was you Ina, there is also a way to copy and paste that might be easier for you, let me know, or let Yvonne know. I do know how to also use the keyboard to do this copy/paste thing;)

Now this tech zombie has a Nikon Coolpix B500. I know nothing about these new fangled cameras. My last camera was a Nikon, but the technology was very different than this little camera. My old one was at least 15 years old. Although it didn't have film, it was three times the size, and it had three different lens. So it was nothing like my new camera.

I started reading the instructions, and immediately it started telling me all about some computer apps that can or need to be downloaded to my iPhone or iPad. I have both, but I'm thinking I should connect the camera to my iPad, so I can put whatever apps the camera needs on the iPad, and that way I can take the iPad along with the camera. I do have a Dell XPS18 that is only a year old, but then I would need to wait until I got home to do whatever pertaining to those above mentioned apps.

I bet you guys can tell all this stuff is way above my head. So if nothing else, this should bring you peeps a lot of laughs. I'm already confused, and I'm only into page five of the manual.

If it's anything like mine Ina, it is just Photo programs so you can edit, and organize your photos on your computer. You don't need them, but if you want them, you can keep studying up on it. I just take pictures with my camera, and transfer them to my computer by way of a USB port. You should have gotten a cord to hook into the camera, and the other end is USB, and plug that into your computer/IPAD.

I can't teach you to use your camera, I do know for taking photos (point and shoot) just put your setting on "auto" which will adjust it's own settings according to light etc.

I just use an easy free Photo Editor like Photoscape, or Paint.net. to crop, resize etc.

I think that @Denise Happyfeet is right , @Ina I. Wonder , and the camera should work just fine all by itself, and the apps would be for editing or even storing pictures, like Flickr does.
What apps does it suggest ? If you look up each app in the App Store, it will tell you what each app is used for, and then you can decide If that is something that you need or want.
Starting off by just using the camera and learning to take pictures and upload them to the ipad should be the simplest way to do things at first, and then as your expertise grows, you can add some of the apps that do things you would like to do with photos, like adding special effects or frames and things like that.

I just looked at the information on the Nikon website, @Ina I. Wonder , and it looks like you can download an app called Nikon Snapbridge. Unless you intend to haul your iPad everywhere with you when you are out taking pictures, I suggest connecting with your iPhone to the Snapbridge app. This puts your phone and your camera in constant connection, and when ever you take a photo, it will automatically be put in your Photostream, without you having to download it to the phone or ipad.
Once it is in your Photostream, then it will also be on your iPad for you to do any other editing you want to do. When you sync the iPad with the Dell, it will also add the pictures to the Dell Photostream, so you should have all of the pictures on all of your devices automatically once you install the Snapbridge app on the phone , and then carry your phone with you like normal.
Have you asked @Holly Saunders about the new camera ? She takes a lot of pictures and she has an iPad; so she might be the most knowledgeable person to ask about using the camera in conjunction with the iPad .

Here is the link for the Snapbridge app.

Here is a tutorial video that will walk you through setting up the Snapbridge with your iPhone, Ina.

Thanks Yvonne, I could use this on my camera. I didn't get anything like that with my camera, but I may be able to get it online.

I'd like the "skip" the step where I have to come home, plug in the USB and transfer my photos to my laptop. I can view what I shoot right away on the camera, but I can't see it very well, too small;)

Nikon also has the app for Android, @Denise Happyfeet ; so if you check you can probably find what you need. It might even work with the Kindle; but I am not sure if it does or not. Since I use the iOS, and so does Ina, that is the app link I posted; but I remember reading that Nikon has the app for Android also.
I hear what you are saying about the size of the picture that you see on the camera is way too small to be able to tell how it turned out. Since it uses the full screen on my iPhone when I take a picture, I can see it a lot better than through the camera.
I gave away my Casio when I got the first iPhone, and have never missed having a camera even once. I LOVE taking pictures with the iPhone, and for the kinds of pictures that I take, I have no need for an expensive camera anyway. Actually, the iPhone has more settings than I know how to use; but the simplicity of using it is what I like the most.
