fSome people are going to the shops still dressed in their pyjamas
Some people are dropping their kids off to school in their slippers and house robe
    WHY ! ?
What is wrong with people today - no bloomin respect for themselves or anyone else
I side with some shops that will not allow it. Theres a discussion going on at present
about it and some people agree they should be allowed to shop in PJs if they want
What do you think on it ?

I agree with you Patsy. I might wear my PJs all day around the house but I put on proper clothes when I go anywhere.

When I take my train trips to my daughter's home in Texas, I see people on the train in their pj's all the time. :) At first it used to kind of "startle" me a little. But now I've seen people getting on airplanes in their pj's and a few shopping at Walmart too. Those pj's many people today would consider "lounging around outfits" and as long as all their "privates" are covered and their "ugly stuff" isn't hanging out for all the world to see...I have no problem with them being in their pj's. For me personally I may live in my pj's at home but I don't want to go out in public in them.

    Absolutely disgraceful, I agree Patsy!

The argument I've heard that they're pyjamas are clean and they're covered up so where's the harm, completely ignores the fact that these people have got out of bed where they've slept all night and probably sweated in those clothes, and then very likely without showering have come out in that same attire and are walking around handling fresh food in the supermarkets that all of us are going to buy is just beyond disgusting.

I saw the pictures in the papers of those people in their pyjamas in the north of England...can't say I've ever seen it here....but they were likened by so many American contributors to the article to many people who shop at Walmart in the USA....I'm sure all walmart shoppers don't dress like that. but it seems a whole lot do...

That's one American custom we'd rather not adopt..

When I was still married and had a house, a family from Germany moved into the house next door. I could write a book about their antics. One early morning I was in our nearby store getting some breakfast stuff. In walks the German lady, robe, slippers and hair net. She used to walk around their back yard garden in her bra and panties often. She told my wife that was common in Germany.

@Ike Willis I bet your wife didn't let you go in the back yard to often after that "bra and panty" lady moved in next door to y'all. :p

Just like a number of things today.........people don't want to be told what they can/can't wear. IMO, "common sense" would state what is ok and what's not, but. When we go to church, I wear nice slacks, shirt and dress shoes, but many come to church wearing shorts, t-shirt and thongs on their feet. Amazes wife and I, but the church's congregation is basically pretty young.

Today, it really seems like, people just don't care.
