I don't shop Amazon on a regular basis but only when my Amazon gift cards have reached the amount for free shipping. I read about the Subscribe and Save option that's available and wondered if anyone else here can comment on it.

It's very daunting having to sift through all the items for Prime members and I was hoping that S&S would sort what's available under this option. This would limit my search for what I'm looking for.

I'm the same Von, I don't have 'prime' its too expensive - its also a nuisance having to make the £20 up for
    free shipping and Amazon delivery.
When I see something now, I add it to favourites, then when I need to make up the amount, I add that to it
(hope you can understand this post) :p

@Patsy Faye, yes I understand. Sometimes I'm tempted to sign up for Prime because some of the prices are much less than in the stores. I get the whole concept of Amazon but I agree the membership cost is more than I can afford to put out at one time on a limited income.

We have Prime, and we also use the subscribe option to get some things that we buy from Amazon on a regular basis, like paper towels and toilet paper.
It works great for this kind of item because you can stock up, and then receive a new supply when you need it. You can choose how often that you want the item, anywhere from every month to every six months , if memory serves me right, and you save at least 5% by ordering the subscription.
The only downside for us is that there is a date when they ship your S&S products, so if you order something and need it right away, then you are not going to get it with the regular 2-day shipping because it won't ship until the S&S date. There are things that I would have ordered that way, but it was something that I wanted shipped at once and not two weeks later.
With the TP (as an example) you would still have some left when it is time for the next box to be shipped, so it is not critical that you get it in two days, and so it is fine knowing that it comes every 2-3 months at the end of the month.
If you were ordering a lot of items and got an order every month, then you save even more because the more you order, the larger the discount.

I would not get Prime just for this feature; but there are SO many benefits we enjoy with Prime that it is well worth the cost.
Most people have Netflix and pay as much for that annually as Prime costs ($10 month), and Amazon Movies has more variety and newer movies than Netflix, and that is just one of the benefits.
Now, I am also using the Prime Reading and getting all of the books I read free, and the selection has a lot of newer books and a huge variety. We also really like Prime Garage, because you can enter the information about your vehicle, and when you need to order a part, it knows what will or won't fit your car.
Overall, Prime is well worth the cost for us, and the Subscribe and Save is a feature that we do use and like.

Yes I can see the benefits if you can make use of them. I'm not a fan of modern films so no use to me
but you Yvonne make good worthwhile use of those benefits :)

I use it for things that I intend to buy repeatedly, such as coffee, toothpaste, mouthwash, etc. You can get a better price on some things by subscribing. Once you subscribe to an item, you're not locked in. I haven't done that, but I don't know of any reason why you couldn't simply take the reduced price and then cancel before the next scheduled shipment. Probably, if someone did that often, some algorithm would catch them, but I have canceled items that I have subscribed to and no longer wanted. For example, I don't necessarily want the same kind of coffee all the time. You can also adjust the shipping times so as to have things come only ever several months, etc.
