Bobby asked me this , and I had to look and see for myself. When you look at the Google Earth app and look at your street, look at the convenience stores, look at the Walmart, you can see all of the houses, trees, cars, and everything else; but there are NO people anywhere.
I looked all the way down our street.
I think that I have mentioned before that we have people walking up and down this street at all hours of the day and night; but on the Google Earth picture, there is not one soul to be seen anywhere.
    Even the cars look weird.
Some of the cars are only part way there. I can tell it is supposed to be a car because it is in a parking space like the other cars, but it is only a couple of red blobs that look like they could be part of a car, not like a picture that is there but fuzzy, just some blobs where it should be a car.
I have not tried going to street view and looking down the street yet; but it does seem really odd that no where are there any humans (or animals, for that matter) anywhere on the streets or in their yards.
Did they take the people out of all of the pictures ? That is a lot of people in a lot of places.
Bobby says maybe we aren't real......
    Comments ? ?

I looked up our home on google earth once and you could see my hubby from the waist up in the back yard of our home .....we live on a corner .....maybe they cut any people and cars out, you'd think it would be a fair bit of work doing that .And what about birds most places have some birds ....Good Question Yvonne .I'm sure our more tech minded members will come up,with an answer to your question

I haven't looked lately but I have seen people on Google Earth before. I know that I have seen the Google car a few times. It even went by our camp up north while I was cutting trees there.

I wonder if someone might have objected to being shown on Google Earth, so they are employing something to remove people from their images.

I read that they try to blur people people and you can ask to have your license plate and address blurred, etc.

There are people seen at Disneyland and places like that.

I've seen my exs car in my driveway, so knew when the pic was taken by what car was there.

It makes sense to me because people need to sign a release saying that it's okay to be visible in the photos. I guess that includes satellite shots as well. The work around for Google Earth would be to remove or blot them out. I've seen this a lot on TV and I always thought something was wrong with the camera or even my eyes until I figured it out.

It's interesting my hubby was in his pj's which is a t shirt type of top I made him ,I make them so they cover his bottom ,(He is 6ft2 and can't get a pj top long enough ) quite often he only has his jocks on under the top ..so he had his picture included even though he was only in pjs his top is a light blue and it's the only time he wears that colour

I think we are real, we are just real invisible, LOL!!

Well, I had a shot of my place in Roseburg, with two friends standing by my truck, and they saw the Google Car drive by that day. That was back in 2013 I think. I haven't payed much attention to "people" or lack thereof, but it's an interesting question. I wonder if it's some sort of privacy issue??

I can't imagine Google worrying about anyone's privacy, but I guess there might be a law that was being broken by Google Earth "cameras".

I remember this up in Oregon Von, I wanted to take some photos of people downtown, the homeless etc. But the paperwork that needed to be signed was kind of a hassle so I decided I'd just take pictures of non-humanoids;)

Oh, my! Stepping back to consider......
I've wondered about the satellites peering down on our private property with impunity........seeing the occasional, er,.......naked sunbather......that's discretionary! Sure, I could up a patio cover, but how would the sun shine through it? I need that Vitamin D!

    I wonder if my Congressman.....
Nah, he'd say, "I'd love to help you, son, but yer too young to vote!"

I have a friend or two that are happy for the the obscurity that those maps, especially in their gardens. One or two "rare" plants gather no or little observation.
