For sure a security risk! I think I saw something like this in a movie too. This will make people think twice about using any copier for personal use. If the company would need to pay $500 would that be for each copier, if so, I see why the hesitancy.

Never thought of the security risks behind a copy machine, but I can help to say how much I'm loving this copy cat, LOL

When it comes to identity theft, who is safe nowadays? I see that we are entering a new age of digitization - almost everything are digitized. I never dreamed that elections would be computerized and now voters need to register for the so called biometrics - to take their photo and fingerprints too. Truly everything goes into the digital device, be it computer or copier or scanner.

But that copier with a hard disk that stores all data that passes the scanner glass is uncalled for. Or maybe it has a good purpose for business use because that archive serves as a backup in case a copied document is shredded or lost. Just my thoughts.

We are not aware of our "Identity Footprint" that we leave every day!

I wonder where Hillary's copy machine is, and what's on it? I love the copy cat @Joe Riley! I'm pretty concerned about information that's out there, but it's really scary that police and other agencies' information is out there, not to mention health care information.

It is even scarier when you think most of the new ones are hooked up to the internet and someone half a world away has this information.

Yes, I thought it was telling that foreigners seem so interested in purchasing our old copy machines. Before reading this, I would have simply thought they were putting our old technology to use, but now it seems more nefarious than that.

:oops:You know that after seeing this news release it's so down right terrible to know that information can be gotten that easily from a copy machine! Many documents throughout my decades of living have been copied and many are sensitive information too. It is quite disconcerting to know how easy it could be to just wipe it clean. What's got to be done is for the copy machines go through a wash when resold. Once my friend wanted to give me her computer from her business. I asked if she got it cleaned and she said no. I let her know that if she's going to give the computer away she has got to clean the hard drive. She asked a computer specialist she knew about it and she told me I was right. I said if you're not going to clean your computer than it's best to give the computer to a relative she trusts.
