A dear friend sent me an electronic card ,but my iPad said it couldn't open it as I didn't have Adobe flash installed .....so I went looking in iTunes for a app ...found one paid for it only to find it was only a tutorial Grrrr:(
I should have read the feedback, before purchasing , never mind Apple refunded my money .
Now can someone tell me ...where I can find a app for my iPad (air) that will allow me to open my card
    Thank you in advance

Hi Kate, Google is your friend, LOL:)

I don't have an IPad Air, Ina does, and chrissy does. I'm sure others do as well. Let's see if I can find you a youtube tutorial, step by step;)

here's one, haven't watched it but it might work for you: http://www.imore.com/watch-adobe-flash-videos-ipad

here's one more, hope it helps. If not, do a google search for "how to open electronic cards on my IPAD Air" and if you have a number like Air 2, add that number as well @Kate Ellery

Ok, can't find anything I think would be easy to follow Kate, try reading through the link I put in, and then you can do the google search too. This forum might be of help as well:

Wish I had more time, and more knowledge about the IPads Kate, denise

I don't know about iPad Air because I don't have an iPad, but I do know that Adobe Flash is free. It's not used so much anymore because there are alternatives, but there are still sites, and apparently electronic cards, that call for it. One caution about Flash is that people have been known to hide malware behind fake downloads of Adobe Flash, as well as fake Adobe Flash update notices. I have it disabled on my iMac, and I enable only when I need it, and when I encounter a notice telling me that my Flash needs to be updated or that I need Flash, rather than clicking on the link provided, I go directly to the Adobe site and download it from there. The Adobe download site is a secure site at https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

On the left of the page, Adobe should evaluate your system and identify it. For example, for my iMac it says:

    Your system
    Mac OS/X, English, Safari

There should also be a link there if it has incorrectly identified your system, but that isn't likely.

Thank you @Ken Anderson I will look up Adobe, I have it on my old laptop which is about 8 years old but it like me old and slow now days ..and it wouldn't play the card due to the LT system wanting to upgrade the Adobe program .We can't update programs from our internet ,we rely on prepaid as that's all that's on offer in our area , unless you have a home phone/ internet connection ( we live in a country town 2 hours from the nearest city ) our current system is very poor . We have a much faster/ better system currently being rolled out Australia wide, but that won't be in operation for another 6 months .I useally upgrade my iPad when I go to the city.

There's a plan Kate, when you go into town, probably a library? You can pick up wifi, and download what you need.

I see it is not easy to find what you need after researching either the alternatives to Adobe Flash, or the work-around software you need to buy to be "able" to download the flash player. I think if you can contact Ina, she may know how to fix you up Kate. She is fairly new to her IPAD Air 2 but she's viewed everything we have here on the forum pretty much. @Ina I. Wonder is how you can IM her or find her on the forum, main area.

I'll be back here sometime tomorrow if you haven't gotten what you need. I'm going to put in a request at my Geek site to see if anyone there can help. I know some of the guys are from your area;) I just don't know how much info there is on Apple etc.;) denise

Found what looks like the main site Kate. If you go all the way down to the bottom, they have a "live Chat" support. You can ask them there "specifically" what you need to open your cards etc. I'd bookmark that page, and use it for anything on your Ipad Air 2. Sometimes you have to find other help, but I think you might get what you need here when you are in town getting a good signal for download etc. Tell them you are looking for freeware. Don't let them tell you the only way is to pay for something. I will help you look further if they want dough for a way. Denise

Denise I spent 2 hours in the local library a few days ago to try to upgrade my operating system on the iPad ,it wasn't a very big update ..however I wasn't successful ..the library had the same issues as us, the internet is just so overloaded ,with the explosion of smart phones/ iPads ....it has not been upgraded in years ,and they have not intentions to do so with the new system being rolled out in Australia https://www.telstra.com.au/broadband/nbn/nbn-rollout

We live in a very high tourist area ,being only two hours from the city ...during school holidays ,Christmas ,Easter holidays we get no internet at all some days .Im off to the city on Tuesday so I will take my laptop and iPad and upgrade while down there looking into the information / downloading info both you and Ken posted for me ..thanks again to you both :)

I didn't word that very well Kate, the library was just an example of places to get wifi. If you already know where to pick up the best you can for downloading, then you're set:) I might not be able to get back to you right away, but maybe the "city" you speak of has the store where you bought your IPad. Should be someone there in the know as well. You probably know this already;) Best wishes for you and I'm sure you'll get her figured out;) denise
