10 years sure makes a difference in our active lives.

10 years in our 20's 30's & middle age is no big deal, but when you hit the 60's 70's & 80's it sure as hell a big deal.
10 years ago I was walking 18 holes of golf three times a week, I was Scuba Diving up to 100 feet, playing Pickle Ball on a regular basis, swimming daily, taking long walks. Physically I can no longer do those things except daily short walks & occasional swimming

Yep, I notice a difference in 65 vs 55. I can tell just by the difference in playing with grandsons. The older two got grandma who could play all day.

The younger 3 get grandma who says after building one lego set, my back hurts ...time for a break.

I agree with exercise and trying to keep relatively fit but as we age it should be at our pace. I walk everyday but probably not the hikes I used to do even five years ago. I swim daily too and cycle but I have noticed not as far as I used to.

I really felt the difference when I turned 60. I was feelin a lot younger than my 50's when I was in them. We all age, that's a given. I think about it a lot, unfortunately. I want to go back and try this whole thing over again. Like they say, old age isn't for wimps. It's pretty much a bitch growing older if you ask me.

Nothing graceful about me growing older, LOL! I mean I don't fight it, and try to be younger, but I am not all cheery about it either;)

My water skiing days have been over, actually for years.
My rodeo/roping days have been over for a good 20 years.
Don't know if we will ever be able to Square Dance again, but may try after moving.
After having our boat in dry storage and having a forklift put it into the water, once we move, we will have to launch and retrieve again ourselves. But, before that happens, we will have an electric winch installed on the trailer. Wife will have a remote in her hand, push a button and the winch will automatically bring the boat up onto the trailer.

No more camping in a tent. Since we've been married, done that once at a lake in Colorado. Never again.
Have to have warm water in the complex swimming pool in order for us to use. Our "warm" to some young folks here is "hot". But, when the water is warm, we are in it at 8 or 9AM on a Saturday or Sunday. Everyone in the complex is still asleep at that time, but that's fine with us.

At almost 69 for me and already 70 for my wife, there are definitely more "over" than "still doing" for us.

I thought I was going to have an "active retirement", but 4 days after I retired, I fell and broke my back. That aged me at least another 10 years in an instant. My wife is considerably younger (almost 9 years) so she is still working seasonably and we have a small farm we work in the summer. We got rid of all the livestock, since she is a small woman and couldn't handle all the heavy chores by herself after I fell. We still travel when we can and visit the children and grandchildren. We have been married over 40 years and are still going. I guess that is an accomplishment.
