Gotta have my 8 cups or so just about every morning! Yup, 8 cups!
If I were to rationalize my particular addiction to coffee I could say that I'm using it to prevent gallstones, parkinsons, Type II diabetes or even an aid to cleaning out the digestional tract. Hmmmm......in Mexico they even use the stuff as an enema for cancer patients but I prefer the old fashioned way and just drink it.

But alas, I just like the kick start in the morning without thinking of any medicinal benefits.

Now, do please note: There is no way I am drinking an expensive coffee whose beans were found in the excrement of a dern cat, possum, or any other animal for that matter.

I recently bought one of those outrageously expensive cups of coffee at the place with the fancy wrapper. The one I bought at McDonald's was better.

For waking up I like my coffee but for taste I like my daughter's K cups with all her different flavors of coffee and SF creamer.

I like mine very strong. When I was living with my parents, I would buy instant coffee to add to my cups I'd pour from their carafe, because theirs tasted like water to me. I use about double the regular amount, and french press is my favorite method, although I am using a drip maker right now. I don't drink it every day right now because of my stomach issues, but when I do have it, I still drink it about double strength. Maybe in the future, I'll just get an espresso maker, that might work for me. If I'm going to have a flavor, hazelnut's my favorite, with french vanilla a close second. Lately, I've been using plain coffee and my usual sugar and half and half, then I sprinkle either some cinnamon or sugar cinnamon on top, depending on what's handy.

At home is use French vanilla usually but my daughter has them all...at least the ones that come I sugar free.

Now with the holidays she'll have pumpkin spice and peppermint something or other, that's in the liquid creamer. The others are powdered.

Powdered she has the French vanilla, hazelnut, chocolate and maybe a caramel one.

I LOVE flavored coffees, and my coffeemaker of choice would be a K cup so I could have all of the different flavors available.
It is not practical for us because (as @Bobby Cole mentioned) he drinks at least 8 cups of coffee every morning, most of them before I even wake up. By the time I am awake, he is onto the second pot of coffee.
I do have a 1-cup coffee maker, but it still requires regular coffee, and so it would not help because we only have one kind of coffee....... plain. The flavored creamers usually all have sugar, so those are no good for me either.

I guess it is time to browse Amazon and see if there are any cheap K cup coffee makers on there, and then I can have a stash of flavored coffees for my morning cup. I usually only drink one cup, maybe two on cold dreary days, so the little K cups would last me a long time, plus I always see them on sale at Krogers.

All the creamers I mentioned that my daughter has are sugar free....I don't know what kind of sweetener they are made with though but we don't care for our one cup of coffee.
When I get up I'll see what it says on my sugarfree French vanilla one.

My daughter buys the plain K cups at Costco and I think she buys the flavored ones at Target.

She's the only one that drinks coffee at her house, unless I'm visiting.

She has one or two max in the morning. The bold Costco one. Then in the afternoon she'll have a flavored lighter one and if she's hungry she'll have a decaf at night as kind of a dessert.

When I was on staff at the Boise Rescue Mission I was in charge of food services for 3 sister missions, which had programs for those with problems associated with homelessness such as alcohol and drugs.

At one point, the head of administrations actually banned coffee and any other drink with caffeine from being served to the program clients for fear that the caffeine lift might physiologically remind them of the high they once enjoyed while using other substances. Dunno if the idea has any true merit to it but it was the rule and everybody followed the rules.

Do note that the Mormons and a few other belief systems forbid the use of caffeine because of the fear that it falls under the catagory of pharmakia (pharmacy or drugs) which is also translated from that Greek word into the Hebrew word of Sorcery.

I love this new commercial about the De'Longhi coffee maker, with Brad Pitt. Can't get the haunting tune out of my mind. Supposedly written by film composer Justin Hurwitz.

A comment in another video mentions the song in the movie Le Diable et les Dix Commandements (English: The Devil and the Ten Commandments), a French film from 1962. It begins at the 59 minute mark. For sure at least this part is the same. Hurwitz was born in 1985.
