Sorry for being a pest, but did I see some time ago on this forum a sight where we can post some of our favourite recipes ????
Also perhaps ask for some recipes if someone has one..

If there isn't one, would it be a good idea to start one .....

    Thanks.....
    Steve

I think that most people have just been posting their recipes, or a link to them, in with the regular posts in the Food section of the forum, @Steve North . If there is a special place just for recipes, I have not seen it.
However, here is a website that has some good low-carb recipes, and he also has a youtube channel where he shows you how to make some of the foods. There is also a keto/low-carb forum there as well, that you might like.
I found a lot of good information, and there is more that I have not even looked at yet. I looked at the low-carb forum you belong to; but since it is run by the same person who owns SF forums (that banned me there), I figured no sense joining the other forum either.

Edit to add: we have a couple of threads about low-carb in the diet section; but I seem to be the only one doing that, and I would love input there from someone else who likes it , too.

I think a separate recipe section would be good. That way you could look for a recipe without scanning through all the other posts.

I think that would be a good way to do it, too, @Sheldon Scott . I know that we have a lot of recipes posted in the food section; and maybe if there was a subsection there for recipes, then they could be put there.
Some recipes that we post are just a link anyway, and even if there was not a sub-catagory for recipes, we could start threads for them in the regular food section.
For instance, say someone has a meatloaf recipe, they could start a thread called "Meatloaf Recipes" and then other people could find it and add to that.
I think that a separate sub-section would make the recipes easier to find; but either way could work.

Talking about recipes are we permitted to add links to recipe sites @Ken Anderson .I was thinking about an Australian site where many of the recipes have been contributed by everyday "cooks" like myself

@Kate Ellery , I think a link to a specific recipe that you have tried would be better than a link to a recipe site. There are many such sites and thousands of recipes. I would only post recipes that I have tried and really liked.

I agree @Sheldon Scott ..I throughly dislike any recipes that are to high in fat ,sugar
I seen a desert recipe on the site I mentioned that has 9 cups of sugar in it IMG_1808.JPG
So just posting a link to a particular recipe would be better :)

I see Ken has a sub forum for recipes now but I don't think that s what people had in mind.

I would like to have a place where just the recipe is posted without comments from others. That would make looking for recipes much easier.

If someone wants to comment on a recipe they could post on the good morning thread with a comment such as " I tried Shell's Sweet potato Pie recipe and it was terrible."

What's wrong with letting people comment on your recipe? The recipe will still be at the top of the thread, and just as findable as if there were no posts. Anyhow, this is a forum so that's what we have. There are probably recipe sites where people can post recipes without comment, but I don't know for sure, as I haven't looked.

I agree with Ken on this @Sheldon Scott . The recipe name will still be the title. The important thing is that everyone start a new post for a new recipe.

Comments inside don't really matter....in fact it would be good to get reviews like I tried this and made it and it was fantastic!

Or maybe someone changed it a little because they didn't have the ingredient and it still came out ok...or not.

If, at some point, we get enough recipes to warrant it, I might further subdivide that section by types of recipes (meats, pastas, desserts, or whatever).

Yeah a recipe site would be fun! I think alot of us have recipes we like and use on a regular basis. However, isn't there some kind of copyright laws on recipes? I think they are fine to use, but if it is something that may be copyrighted we should attribute the source. I think that is a requirement. We don't want to run afoul of google. I know I love some of the recipes on Big Oven, but we need to make sure that we say they are from Big Oven.

Even if you make the recipe your own? I'm not one to ever follow a recipe. I'll look at one for a general idea then I make it my own. That's the way I've always cooked and that's why I don't bake because with baking measurements are important.

My daughter follows a recipe to the letter... We are both good cooks but very different styles.

That's why I said I'd rather see family or personal recipes, or recipes that have been adapted (changed) from the original recipe, rather than copied and pasted from other sites. I know that when I come across a recipe that I want to try, I'll usually change it somewhat, using slightly different ingredients, or less of one thing or more of another, and that should be fine. In other words, if you make it you're own, that should be fine. However, posting an occasional recipe from another site is okay, and usually appreciated by the owner of the recipe site, if it is attributed, with a link back. Recipes from old, no longer in print, books are usually safe too, and that's where a lot of our "family" recipes have come from.

I'm not one to follow recipes generally ..however I do for cakes, biscuits ,and chutneys .
I don't cook much better in the way of cakes ,now days but when I do I halve the sugar content
