I hate the weather around here. What I wouldn't give for some nice cool, sunny crisp Fall weather, like was in PA last weekend. It is either disgustingly hot, or it is rainy and humid for days on end. I have just heard we will have heavy rain for the next few days that will knock out the internet I bet, and probably the TV! When the weather is good here, it is great...but that is maybe 5-10 days a year...any other time it seems there is some kind of problem going on. My real goal is to get a place in Richmond and a summer place up North..This weather...sucks pardon my French!!!

We really thought we'd be able to handle the "tropical" type weather that Florida gets, BUT, have not. My wife's family and a girlfriend back in So. California are always telling us that they could never move here due to the humidity. We actually had it snow here on Christmas 2010. It wasn't sticking, but it was definitely snowing and I got it on video. Our temps here in northeastern Florida can get rather cold during our so-called "winter". I've seen a daytime high of 45 degrees and a low of 24 degrees for a few hours just after midnight. We never thought it would get that cold here. A lot of people here will brag that boating can be done year-around here. Well, perhaps in Miami and south. We've even used our ice scrapper (brought from Colorado) to scrap frost off or our windshield. We know the kind of winters we are going back to, when we move back to Colorado (Front Range/Eastern Slope).
My son thinks I should move North...and I think I might end up doing that at some point..cuz I just get really annoyed at times with the weather. Of course then again, you don;t have the bitter cold that the Northern climes have, and that is worth something. Even somewhere like Charlottesville would probably be better because that is closer to the mountains. It is usually a little cooler there. OH well, maybe if it gets nice weather wise I will be happy again!
I think that goes with most things Joe Riley...lol. The whole the grass is always greener etc. Sometimes, I think life is a series of wanting what we don't have, the secret to happiness I think is to be content with what we do, but this weather...no one likes!! unless you are a duck!
Too early, for that kind of weather! I don't want to have to wear a heavy jacket when I go outside. It is about 70 degrees today, won't cool off too much tonight either..the next couple of days are warmer.
And who doesn't hate the weather particularly when the weather is bad? This morning it took me 3 hours to traverse my route which usually take an hour and a half and that's due to the extremely heavy traffic because it was raining so hard. I can't come to terms that I would be late for work when I usually arrive before 7am and this morning I came in at 8:30am, that's 30 minutes late from my 8am time in. This is a tropical country and our only choice for a different climate and weather is Baguio City which has a cool climate or Tagaytay City with the same cool atmosphere but not as cold as Baguio City. However, it is not easy to move especially since our circle is here in Metro Manila. Besides, those 2 places I mentioned are now also having an epidemic called heavy traffic. Our only choice for a good weather is abroad.
Our desert has "settled down", now, after 3 harsh months of extreme heat, interrupted for very short spells, and too infrequently, rainfalls confined to small areas directly under a large cloud! 70 degrees this yesterday morning, 90 mid-afternoon, humidity yesterday 5%. Today, a final hit of Monsoon weather, sporadic rains almost statewide. One cannot imagine, if one has not experienced it, the uncanny "deserty" smell prevalent when rains threaten, or actually fall. The thirsty desert plants, having adapted to very long periods without precipitation, open their "pores" and actually drink in what little water they can, if it's there, while releasing their inner odor. That many people live in the Philippines now? When I was in the Navy, and Subic Bay still had a U.S. Naval Station, that was one of our stops on our way to Vietnam from San Diego.
When the US Naval Station was still in Subic, I think the population of our country was less than 50 million. Now it is a bristling 100 million and still counting, huh. Earlier this month, we were in the province of Camarines which is 8 hours bus ride away from Manila. Guess what? There were malls and too many vehicles that traffic is already common. I don't think there is still a place here that has no traffic. Don't mention the boondocks because most of them were converted into residential subdivisions already.
