A neighbor which is a few lots away from our property has a security guard 24/7. Obviously, that resident is rich because he has 7 SUV of high caliber like BMW and Benz. In one conversation with my women friends here in our neighborhood, they are asking why the need for that security guard. Maybe that resident is just bragging of his wealth. But on the other hand, I think he is scared of the reports of break-ins in our community. And maybe having a security guard gives him peace of mind.

I have been thinking that if we are rich and we can afford to pay a security guard, maybe we will also hire just to give us total peace of mind at night.

A security guard, wow. I could think of other ways to increase the security around my home like an iron gate, security cameras, or patrolling dogs. It takes a lot of trust in people to protect your home.

This reminds me of the days when the cctv was just emerging. There was a spate of robbery in our community and the residents were called to a meeting to set up a sort of security measure. I was surprised when some neighbors said that we are lucky to have a cctv camera that's why burglars don't go near our house. I did not comment on those remarks but it kept me thinking until I reached home. Voila, our front yard spotlight looked like a cctv camera to them.

fake cams are widely as well. also outside lights that automatically turn on if the sensor is blocked by shadows. they do hate being in the spotlights

I am the security guard here. No dogs, (easily dissuaded by offerings of meat), no security service "bugs", no doors, windows, hatches, with "alarm switches".

All the intruders need to figure out, is when I will not be there..........

Prosecuting Attorneys, like all attorneys, get paid commensurate with the number of cases they win. They will resort to pretty dubious claims to win a case, even one involving an unquestionable self-defense use of lethal force, by "structuring" the level of force employed. Thus, the use of a sub-machinegun for self defense purposes will be an added charge against the user: "higher level of force indicates predisposition to kill".

It's happened that way, especially in the most Liberal areas. Confronted by an armed intruder, defend yourself as needed, is my finality. A good handgun will get the job done!

I think I had already posted the case of Sonny Parson, a popular singer in the 1980s. An intruder was able to take control of their house, tying everyone and attempted to rape Sonny's daughter. It was just fortunate that Sonny was kind of athletic and he had the courage nor to surrender. He was able to untie himself and get a gun to shoot the intruder who had ran out of the house to escape. Sonny hit the running intruder in the street and killed him. That incident had given Sonny a legal problem and he was almost jailed if not for his smart lawyer. One radio announcer named Mike Enriquez sarcastically said that in reference to that incident that when an intruder enters your house, give him your gun and beg for him to shoot you so you will not have a problem anymore.
