I bought a few things on Woot several years back, when they sold one item at a time. I hadn't thought much about the site lately until I opened one of their recent mailings. I follow various deals sites and receive emails from quite a few of them. I usually don't open the mails or visit the sites unless I have money to spend, but I clicked over to see what they had the other day, and saw some great deals. Woot now offers items from various categories such as home goods, electronics, shirts, etc., so if you enjoy shopping and aren't familiar with the site, check it out. There will no doubt be some good deals there for holiday gifts. Here's the site's FAQ, for more information.
I signed up with amazon for Woot, but nothing on it is cheap enough for me, yet. I love all deals that can save me money, so when amazon introduced it to me I jumped at it. But so far nothing I can afford. I'm looking for a nice 2 in one laptop, that I can take pictures with too, that's under 250.00...lol, I'll need a miracle for finding it, lol!
I looked at that Woot site a few times. It seems to have some good deals, but unless it has something like slipcovers, I probably am not going to bite. I am pretty much teched up right now, now that my new smartphone functioning. I already have two laptops, three printers and a tablet..so I am in good shape there. The only thing I would find tempting would be an Ipad mini...or a flat screen at an amazing price.
@Ken Anderson Have they always been owned by Amazon, or was that a recent acquisition? I know they seemed to be start-up when I first heard of and stated using them, but I guess they could have simply been an offshoot of Amazon at the time. There seems to be a pattern of the large companies gobbling up the smaller ones that find success in a niche, such as Walmart's recent purchase of Jet.
That could be good or bad. I like that they seem more organized, and now offer multiple items at one time, rather than just one, then the Woot Sell-Offs, but it always makes me nervous when the larger companies start gobbling up the smaller ones, since it leaves us with less options to choose from.
here's another one. I bought my camcorder that takes pics for 39 bucks. about a year ago http://www.tomtop.com/
That's a new one to me @Gary Ridenour , thanks for sharing. I love bargain sites, especially ones I know are legitimate. i follow some on Twitter, and will have to look for this one there, because sometimes I'll just scroll their Twitter feed on my phone for deals when I'm not near the computer.
