I found one of those laser lights that will display outside (or inside) and adds lots of pretty color to your yard or house, and even decorates for holidays, or other special occasions. It was about $100 on Amazon; but was one of the discounted specials that we have been having such a great time with, and was $20; so I applied for it and got it.
It just arrived today, and Bobby has been testing it out , here inside the house. It has red and green lights, and can do several different designs of strobe lighting in either one color, or both colors at once.
It has a remote, so he can change what it is doing as he likes.
Both of us enjoy color, and this should look interesting when he sets it up outside and it shines with pretty red and green stars up in the trees in the front yard, or displays on the house itself.
The pictures make the walls (white actually) look black behind the bright lights; but when you are actually looking at it, the walls are not so dark.

We also have that. It's fun to use that during the holiday season. I remember buying it some years ago for New Year's eve which we placed outside the house so the exterior wall of our house was like a projector's screen with a colorful display of lights. I didn't know that it's called laser lights. My husband said that it's also good for parties that are held at night. However, we don't hold parties in our house anymore maybe in deference to our dogs who hate strangers (guests).

Yeah, my son was telling me about one when visiting for Thanksgiving. He said that it looks like snow is falling at night of course. When he told me how much it cost he had a smile on his face . He would really have to convince Tisha on that one.

That's one thing I don't need or want. I really don't get it....why do you want lights on your wall or am I misunderstanding what it does?

Also strobe lighting bothers me as it can trigger a migraine.

You have it right, @Chrissy Page. It's more of an entertainment gizmo. The one that my son told me about was for outside. He lives in Atlanta, Georgia and there's not much snow there from what I understand. For him it would have been a reminder of home up north but with warmer temperatures.:)

The picture just shows it inside on the wall because that was where it was easy for me to take a picture of it, @Chrissy Page . Although it could be used inside for a party, we don't have parties and would not do that anyway.
Bobby is absolutely intrigued with colorful outside lights, and he has some strung along the porch that light up and change colors. We have solar lights in the yard and along part of the fence line.
These lights are more for setting up outside in the yard and aiming them at a focal point in your yard, or even on the house itself, especially as a holiday decoration. Bobby had them set up outside and shining up into the neighbor's pine trees, and they looked like pretty twinkling stars up there in the trees.
We don't want someone to come along and steal it, so Bobby is going to figure out a way to set it up outside where is it stable and not easy for someone to just stop and pick it up as they are walking past the house.

Have to admit I am a Christmas person, enjoy the season and these add to our outside decorations.
Still string lights, but these fill in the bare spots. Ours came with timers, I just set and forget.
If someone wants to figure out how I have them secured, they can have them.
But would appreciate them coming back at the end of the season and help get the rest of the lights down.:)

The honest truth is that Yvonne just loves color, especially bright colors. That was one of the things I noticed about her when I visited her and Bobby. Now Bobby didn't show a propensity toward color that I saw, but I never did see the inside of his work shop. Man cave you know.

Now, if Lady Yvonne was to voice the thought, "Bobby wouldn't the moon be pretty if it could show us all the pretty colors that the Creator made for us"? I can just see Bobby's face going from idea to idea deciding which way best to accomplish her desires.

My ex liked the color lights and when he was with me my front yard was lit, lol.

I personally just like white lights. I like things simple and not busy. I wouldn't do well in a very colorful environment.

Funny this thread is here. One of the things I am trying to sell is a light projector. YOu can project different images or designs on your house or garage door for the holidays. I just don't need it and have never used it. I suppose I could use it on the side of the house, but being out here in the woods..only the squirrels and owls would see it! :D It just isn't practical when you live in an area surrounded by woods. Yvonne defintely has lots of color!

Ha ha, you just reminded me that I have one of those too in my attic from my days with the ex. I hated it but to keep the peace I let him put it up. Everything that's up in my attic is garbage now because of the rats...I don't care about the xmas decorations because I'm never even home but I did have a nice and expensive comforter set up there along with a few other nice items. But I'm sure the rats got into it. :(

I love Christmas and decorations and xmas trees but I like them subtle.
