That's very kind of you to say that. Nature continues to astound and impress on a daily basis. We're all so very fortunate!

How long have you been doing this, Tony? Have you done it professionally? I'm amazed at how good you are.

    Hi Chrissy,

I bought my first digital camera in 2005. It had a whopping 3 megapixels and 8 x zoom! I'm not a professional but I've been fortunate in that I've been published in a national birding magazine and a National Geographic bird guide book for kids. I also had a black & white photo of a Great Egret selected and displayed in the "1st International Compact Photography Exhibition" that was held in Spain as one of the 100 best compact camera photographs.

I've simply taken the time to learn the behaviors of my cameras and make every attempt to present situations that maximize their strengths and minimize their weaknesses. I can't tell you how how important it was for me to discover and fully embrace a style and look I desired in my photographs. That is, capturing a portrait style photograph that favors the slightly darker end of the exposure spectrum and with the specific goal of capturing a high level of detail in the subject I'm photographing. In this way, I have a definite game plan I follow every time I use my cameras and therefore, I'm assured consistent, reliable results.

Probably a lot of practice and hard work but you are a natural! You really have a knack for capturing an interesting and unique shot.

Yes - as Chrissy says, a lot of patience. Would you have liked to do the active wild life filming for television ?
The shots they get are breathtaking too ................
