I've been thinking about making a tea station up here in the office for a while now. The kitchen is downstairs, and it's not always convenient to have to keep going downstairs to make tea, especially when I'm not feeling well. I ended up buying another electric kettle, and it arrived yesterday. I have a pretty good idea of where I'm going to set up the station, but I still need to move things around to create a space for the kettle. a few cups, and the other things I'll need. It's just a little change, but I think it will be a positive one.

Good idea @Diane Lane , as long as you have access to water for the kettle I can only see it as a positive..:)

I do have a bathroom up here where I could get water, but the water up here tastes metallic, so I usually use bottled. I sometimes also buy jugs of water, and keep those up here, to fill the cat water bowl, but I'll buy a few extras now and use those for the tea station. That'll also help decrease the frequency of needing to descale the kettle. I have a rudimentary set up right now, but I'm going to make it nicer. I have a wood and tile tray I got years ago in Mexico that I'm going to use as the base. I had to dig it out of storage and clean it up, and once it's dry I'll set it all up. I'm using honey in it right now, but am going to buy some sugar cubes to use up here. My grandmother always had sugar cubes, and so when I use them I think of her. That will make it even more of a treat. :)

A tea station sounds like a nice idea. It sounds homey, and if you don't have to keep running downstairs to get a beverage so much the better. An electric kettle sounds neat. I would like to have something like that too, but I usually drink ice tea. I probably need the bit of exercise that running back and forth to the kitchen provides. IF I had to keep going up and down stairs however, I think a tea station would be a great idea.

It's still evolving, but I'm really happy with it. I had a migraine yesterday, and I can't handle much when I have one, but tea does help. It was a blessing to have it up and running, since moving around too much tends to exacerbate the pain and other symptoms. It was so nice to wake up this morning and just come across the hall to make a cup of tea, rather than going downstairs and getting everyone excited that they were going to be fed, when that wasn't the case. It seems both my indoor cats and also the strays seem to think that they're going to be fed every time I go into the kitchen, especially after not having been fed for a few hours. I've added some of my favorite teas now, as well as a small sugar container, but I'll be replacing that with my china sugar bowl when I get some sugar cubes. tea station nice.jpg
