I have a lul in my chores. It is a rare day that I finish all the "to do" list by this early, so now I'm thinking about starting a new crochet project.

This is one of the patterns I'm thinking about. Isn't he cute? What a great gift idea, too. I think it would be fun as part of an "off to college" gift basket for the fall. I also thought that it might be easy enough to make him a big longer/bigger and turn him into a draft stopper.

Adding link in case anyone else is interested:

@Diana Kristof Very nice! In my case, you likely would find my projects boring, at best. Latest, I got the car running again, after weeks of frustrating events related to it's computer. Looking ahead: replace all the trim panels removed to access the computer itself, and the inner front fender well removed to get at the mountings of the ABS (Anti-lock Brake System) Module.

Depends on what you mean by projects. I have decided that probably the best bet to sell my used ipod is to trade it in through Amazon. However, I would prefer cash for it, but I think I can get a 93 dollar trade for it on Amazon, however, I don't seem to have the charging cord. I have an Ipod Shuffle though that does have the cord and all the packaging so maybe I will start with that. If worse comes to worse, I will re order the charging cord for the ipod, but I have so many cords and chargers around here, I am thinking it has to be somewhere. I guess you would call looking for it a project and I want to post a rice cooker I have never used on Close 5.

Franky, well not necessarily boring, but not my kind of fun either. ;) I have had my fair share of car trouble and usually ended up having t take it to a garage because I didn't know anyone locally who could help me. I try to learn what I can, though, and am able to change my own oil and change a tire if necessary too. Not too shabby for a single lady I like to think!

K.E., Sometimes trading in is the best option, but I wonder if you have looked to see what they are going for on Ebay? On the other hand, I believe Apple's products, especially Ipods, are tied to a particular user and that can be a problem when selling them used.

Well, I did clean out my junk drawer yesterday, does that count? I was really looking for something and even though I didn't find it I ended up cleaning the drawer.

I feel sorry for my kids if I die, they're going to have a lot of sorting and throwing out to do. My daughter knows what's worth anything and she'll get those and then hire someone to do the rest.

I can't do anything with my car except put gas in it. All the men I've ever been involved with always knew cars and
Would help me. Now that all those men are gone, I got a new car a few years ago and changing oil and rotating tires isn't that expensive and hopefully I won't need any major work for a few years. I'm due for an oil change now.

I would say a junk drawer counts! It's a lot of work. Every single item has a strange reason for being in there. LOL And do we need to really keep it or throw it away? I don't have kids to go through things, but I suppose some day my nieces and nephews will. I don't envy them either. On the other hand, it is just something that we all go through, isn't it?

As far as the car, I will admit that I get my oil and tires done by a garage occasionally when I'm feeling lazy. ;) You're right, it is not to expensive, and sometimes it is a hassle. It's nice when you have a man who can do those things and enjoys doing them. I haven't got one of them on hand at the moment either, but have also in the past. Having someone practical around is, to be honest, one of the best benefits to dating, in my opinion.

Lol, Diane about the dating....true though.

I have one thing in my junk drawer that I have no idea what it is but I'm afraid to throw it out. It's been in the junk drawer for years now so obviously not something I need.

Maybe I'll take a pic and post it and someone might know.

That's the way I feel about old keys, and I have thrown keys away before only to come across a lock that I no longer have the key for.

I have a bunch of old keys too, maybe not as many as you do but I'm not sure what some of them are for anymore.

I know they belong to this house but that's all I know. Some are to some Automark voting machines that I never turned in but oh well.

This has happened to be me too. But I'll tell you what inevitably happens: I throw the key (or other object) away, and then I either remember what it's for, or someone tells me, and I realize I shouldn't have thrown it out. It's kind of like the old adage that if you carry an umbrella it won't rain ...

@Chrissy Page You should post it. It could be fun to guess! :)

Keys! Can be an item obsessed over. My father in law worked maintenance at our local hospital. He had a little shop area there. Accessible to all personnel. When he died, we found several unusual keys in the apartment and sought to investigate. A court order opened the Safe Deposit Box in his name. It was full of.......KEYS!

Allowed access to the hospital maintenance shop (both my wife's parents worked there, her mother in the laundry, and, after all, my wife had lost them both at the same time), One of the keys from their apartment opened a little cabinet on the wall which no one there seemed to know anything about, and it was full of......ya guessed it! KEYS! Frank

No, I don't have a project at the moment but I need one. Now that the heat is keeping me inside more, I find that I am quite bored. Possibly cross stitch or quilting?

@Texas Beth I never got into cross stitching much, but my sister loves it. She has shelves and shelves of the books and magazines. I've asked her before why she keeps them all, and she says she never knows which pattern will inspire her. I guess I'm a little the same with crochet, although I usually try to clear through the books/mags every couple of years to keep it to a minimum.

Quilting is fascinating to me but I don't think I could do it. There is a quilt museum in Paducah KY, about an hour from where I live, and I went there with said sister before. It's really neat to see what people have done. Some of them are so intricate that they look like paintings!

Yes, quilting I would like but that's just too ambitious for someone like me who can barely sew on a button. :)

But aside from a memory type quilt, I have no use for them.

I just remembered that my grandmother taught me to embroider but again a useless project for me.

And most of these are all projects that you can do sitting so no exercise. If I'm going to sit, I have more fun on my ipad.
